Sheeds played an inspirational game. well done! :D :D :D

I was impressed with Nick Wark's effort on Ben Warren and also the professionalism of our defence. McLeay's an AFL player in my opinion too. 8) 8) 8)

Chambo was sensational.

I am stoked. Almost speechless...

Go U Blues!

From the TV broadcast South had no forward defensive pressure whatsoever. Nil. nada, ninguno, nix, absolutely stuff all nothing.

A 15 goal winning margin to the Blues with Chambo kicking 11 is not too much to ask for on such a beautiful day like this!

South were very, very bad. Torney and Handby about the only ones to contribute.

Yeah, I went along with a long sufferring South supporter and was pretty embarrassed by the mouthing off from a bunch of Sturt supporters up on the hill. As a Sturt supporter growing up in the late eighties and early nineties I know what it's like to cop a belting like that and didn't think the South fans who went along Saturday deserved to spend their afternoon listening to the crap coming out of the mouth of one bloke in particular. (If we were belting Port or Glenelg I wouldn't have had a problem with it  )

I felt even worse after being treated to some great hospitality by the Panthers. Standing in the Jimmy Deane Bar (which is a credit to the SAFC) my mate and I were invited in for a beer and a Vilis pie and pastie by the guy who organises the half time function (and got to meet Roger Rigney)...

In regards to the game, I was always sure we'd win but expected South to put up more of a fight. Torney is working his arse off but one man can't hold up a defence on his own. Sturt on the other hand had winners in pretty much every position. Wark was very impressive along with Evans and the usual suspects of Whiteman, Sheedy and co. Was also one of the better efforts I've seen Deluca put in.

Let's keep it going Blues and make it 5 on the trot!

On another note, our depth this year throughout the grades is the best I can ever recall.

The abuse on the hill had me move elsewhere and i've stood there over many years and the rubbish from that Sturt group was the worst i've endured from any supporter group and have never felt the need to move but Saturday was appalling. Maybe some security next time this human waste comes to Noarlunga, not needed at SANFL. As for the game we were never going to win but our skills, not our endevour, is what really dissappionted, Sturt has already one hand on the Premiership trophy can't see them dropping a game.

I've got to say that the perception that Sturt represents the leafy, eastern suburbs types- Hackney high and PAC old Scholars can't possibly be true after what I witnessed on Saturday. Some of the most filthy disgusting language was directed at South supporters and players, if only these morons displayed the same class as the players that represent them.

Was all this abuse from the Sturt supporters completely unprovoked? If it was, then it seems that Sturt supporters are gaining a bad reputation, particularly after the incident at Unley in the game against Port last year as well.

There's a difference between passion and abusing people...

The other 8 clubs supporters are just as passionate, but don't see too many complaints about
abuse stemming from them...

Unprovoked?
My understanding of that incident at Unley last year was that it was a payback.
Why the hell bring that up in relation to an incident of bad language GWW? I think I hear a rock rolling down a hill starting an avalanche. Port supporters pointing the finger, now I have heard it all!
Let's keep a lid on things here. I am ashamed as the previous Sturt supporters to have posted their disgust at the behaviour of this group of bad eggs. I wasn't even there, but as CC said, after experiencing the dark days of SFC first hand, I cringe whenever I see of hear of Sturt supporters giving out the pointless sh1t that I was on the recieving end of for 8 years.

I posed a question, was it unprovoked? All the crap that Port supporters get.....but which club appears to be having the most problems with its crowd now with these issues.....surely not the Sturt Football club who we're led to believe act appropriately in all instances!!

GWW, the way I am reading all this was that the bad language was unprovoked. I am also reading the majority of responses from Sturt supporters as being reconciliatory in that everyone seems ashamed of it. You bring up a completely unrelated violent incident from last year, the details of which are very sketchy, just so you can point the finger at someone else. Hardly constructive input.

The ongoing stereotyping of Port supporters as feral, which occurs almost daily is hardly constructive either. I think my point is that each club has their fair share of ferals yet Port (and maybe Centrals) seem to be the only ones with the label.

Fair enough GWW.
But I do think the stereotyping of Port supporters is done in jest, and by the tone of this discussion this group of Sturt supporters on Saturday has crossed that line of it just being a joke. I hope they are just a bunch of one match wonders and we never hear of them again.

Let's not get too carried away here. I was embarrassed by the actions of about three morons in particular. All clubs have their drop kicks.

I've got no problem with a bit of rough language but when people are dropping f's and c's, I reckon that security should have the right to ask them to leave. Part of the fun of going to the footy is the banter that goes on between rival supporters. There is a line though at which it just becomes poor form.

Anyway, go blues this week against the bays. Should be a ripper contest.
