Centrals v North - Friday night scores

All discussions to do with the SANFL

Look in the same way Central wasn't written off by most posters on this site after Glenelg knocked them off, it will be folly to write off the Rossters after one loss. Best to wait until after everyone has played each other once. Long way to go yet until the end of the season.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

No tassie - we are gone, no chance this year. As well as physical injuries in previous weeks and last night we ended up with 21 players suffering mental shock!

Until we get anywhere near full strength and keep a settled side for a few weeks will struggle to win so it won't suprise me to see us lose the next 4 or 5. I predict we will struggle to make the 5 this year let alone the double chance. Let's see if I am right in a few weeks time.

Seriously, Dreb, I hope the players haven't got a defeatist attitude like you. Glen Elliot told me a phrase 10 years ago and he got off Yabby Jeans when he was coaching at St Kilda, Crisis creates opportunity now is an opportunity for your reserves and U/19s players to step up and show your coach that they want to play league footy. This could be the making of your club if you (you means NAFC) want it to be...

FWIW I'm not writing your lot off, not yet anyway....

I'm not a defeatist but a realist. I've been banging on all year about injuries hurting us and that is proving the case at this stage because we were found out in the midfield and the pressure on an undermanned defence was too much in the end. Centrals didn't allow us to get he ball, no free space or run so no supply to our forwards to outscore teams like we have been doing - not that we had one fit forward last night but I doubt if that would have mattered the way Centrals controlled the game.

But, as everyone knows all too well, Central will struggle this year because IT has no depth!!!!!

Drebin,do you want everyone to feel sorry for you and your team over one loss.Get real you know North are not gone so dont be a baby about it.We dont feel sorry, because no body felt sorry for the dogs when we had injuries, so north are no different. Its quite funny actually(Not injuries) that some of those players that are injured will be burning more holes in the pockets of the administrators and not even being on the park.

Where did I say for anyone to feel sorry for me or North. I never made stupid quips like that when Centrals were struggling with injuries - in fact I was one of many who said I would not write them off unlike some others including some of your own supporters who were "banging" on about injuries, depth and recrutiing. Did you read the CDFC forum after the Glenelg loss? Exactly the same thing.

North will not and cannot win the flag until they develop a stronger defensive game, not many finals are played in a free flowing end to end non contact shoot out

You need to be able to kick a score but you need a strong defensive action, footy is two ways not just running one way towards goals

Very well said and i couldn't agree more.

Congrats to the Central Pups beatin undefeated North on Saturday. Xcellent effort.
Matty Foldesey is gonna be a gun in 2-3 years mark my words. He came out and did some Xtra pre season work with us on top of the full on CDFC pre season, everyone was so impressed at his attitude and character. Good luck to him.

Did anyone read the pathetic rubbish in the SM about this game?

Virtually nothing about about the game, just a sob story about injured chooks.

Drebin - I can't help but think you are looking for a 'no-lose' position. If North fail you can say 'see - told you so' and if not 'gee - aren't we good - better than I expected'!! Your team has lost one game and you are already looking for a 'no lose' position to sit comfortably in. That is fair dinkum SOFT matey. Stand up for your team who has done most things right at this stage - instead of heading for the corner. Its fair to criticize for sure but to just back off like that is well, I said it before - Soft.

North supporters can't say they expect their team to win as they're then classed as "cocky".
You talk about a 'no-lose' position, try a lose/lose position.

What's wrong with expecting something to happen?
As long as people support and cheer for their team surely that's all that counts?

I comment and tip with my head, I barrack and support with my heart. It something you develop with a bit of age and maturity.

I have more of an issue that just crap on about how their team's going to win every game because they're so one eyed and ridiculously immature and only ever agree with their own supporters be they dickheads or not. Its that sort of blind lack of objectivity or mature thought that is piss weak IMHO. Not to mention with morons worried more about other teams than their own.

Perhaps Drebin should do what a lot of others do and just go missing after a loss, would that be better?

Dead set there's some weird thoughts out there at times. I must live on a different planet.
