Funny how the thread stating the AFL board is dead is the most lively thread in the AFL board - and it's not due to discussing AFL.

Centrals have won 6 premierships in the last 8 years.

Norwood have won 6 premierships in the last 58 years.

No wonder their fans have converted to AFL now.

It's a long to walk to Norwood oval from my place Royal. The last Legs game I went to it was against West and it was pissing down at Richmond and we actually won a game (2005).

Probably non stop abuse much like Darren Jarman used to get when playing in Adelaide when he came back for 5 years as a "interstater" playing for Hawthorn(at least Judd is not one of their own)

Yes, we were fairly unforgiving when he played along with Hawthorn's "trick" tactics to pretend he was signing with the Crows while secretly talking with the Hawks. On top of losing DJ, his actions contributed to us losing Richard Champion as well. According to Richard Champion himself, Hawthorn and Brisbane conspired to ensure that Champion signed with the Bears before the Crows were aware they'd been had by both of them. The Crows were allowed to sign 10 players already drafted to other clubs and DJ would have been one of them, RC was the next option.

Matthew Robran was also subject to questionable Hawthorn contract tactics when they told him (and his father) verbally that he could return to SA in 1992 but didn't disclose that a 2nd year option was written into the contract, forcing Matty to sit out 1992 before being able to return home. This based on interview Matty gave on 5AA.

To show the true character of Crows supporters were forgave and forgot in 1996 and welcomed the prodigal son back to where he should have been all along.

Ironically both played very important roles in our back to back premierships

He admitted naiveity on their part in the interview. Apparently no manager or solicitor was involved in the negotiations, his dad did it himself and his approach was to take people at their word and when they asked the question, the Hawks told them he was free to return in 1992 if that was his wish. The lad was still a teenager remember.

There was no bitterness I detected from him BTW - it's my take on their recruiting tactics at the time

So what happens if one of our teams are playing the Crows or Port?

I have to discuss it with myself?

This forum is for Crows supporters (and polite non Crows supporters) to discuss their team since its one of the 2 SA based AFL sides and this site is all about SA Footy!
Enjoy, no trolling will be tolerated, if you wish to have a lighthearted dig, leave it in the AFL board.
Cheers

This separation will squash many of the posts on this board. In fact it looks like it already has.

Crows vs any other team discussions should be on the AFL bit, not just on the "Crows/Port are the best and no arguing" section.

Looks like some good discussions going on to me.

I agree. A thread in both may be an answer, as we are trying to create a new home for Crows fans as they don't currently have one.

I can't see an issue. If you want to have a go at the Crows or Port just do it in the general board.

Who said I still don't barrack for the Redlegs? All I said is I can't get to the games and now that ABC2 have given the state league broadcasts the arce I can't watch them on the telly either. I have to rely on dodgy internet links for rado broadcasts these days.
