4,000 injuries at Prospect

Postby pipers » Wed May 10, 2006 1:10 am

Seriously, every single North fan I've spoken to this week reakons they've got no hope on the weekend because of injury.

I said to one today, "some of your fans reakon you've got 12 blokes out injured. That's bullshit."

Then he gave me the names of 10 injured players, plus two who you can't really count.

Tell you what, we'd better friggin win.

I'm sure we've got injuries too, but I can't think of any.

Hooray!

Either they're making early excuses for their impending loss, or there isnt as much depth as they claim.

the 4000 injuries you refer to Al would be the bleeding hearts of the supporters

Seriously to have so many injuries, particularly soft tissue hip and leg injuries they need to have a good hard look at what they are doing off the field not just on it.....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Yeah along with the other 8 SANFL clubs, all 16 AFL clubs, and all the other semi-professional, professional teams with similar physical demands throughout the world. All teams get injuries and they come and go in waves.

From the NAFC Official site

For the record here is the updated injury List and expected return dates for our players.

Seniors
Alleway [July 1], Walker [July 1], Koops [June 3], Brett White [June 3], Wintle [May 19], Hargraves [June 3], Kurzel [Year], Francou [See Power Report]

Can't see where you are coming from Tassie. Of these guys injured, Francou has a hip/groin injury but that has nothing to do with what North are doing. Walker has a back injury, Kurzel did his knee, Hargraves a knee, Koops knee, Alleway ankle. Yes White has a hamstring and i'm not exactly sure what Wintle's leg injury is. Add to this list other players such as Younie who is carying an ankle injury, Weatherly who copped a knock to the leg last week, Howard who got a corky last week Gill who has hurt his neck and Gatto who injured his elbow. So of all these there is 1 possibly 2 soft tissue injuries.

By the way i am not trying to claim North are the only club affected with injuries or even that we are worse off that any other club. Just pointing out that the injuries we do have haven't been all soft tissue injuries.

You never wish upon injury on any one

- but Francou not being available for 1 week means Port Power cant take him this week - thus now qualifying for the SANFL finals for the roosters.

He will be very handy in September

Sadly, I think Josh Francou is very close to the end... unless he gets permission to use a walking frame.

He was not overly fast to begin with, now with his bionic knees he is too slow. His hip injury just compunds the problem.

RR - the club forgot to add Younie who was carried off Friday night with his ankle or Gill and Weatherly although both wnet into last week injured but should be right this week (hopefully?) . You could include Cox who is still playing with knee soreness and as everyone has pointed out is not in match shape or due to coming back to early to cover other injuries.

Looks like a list of 11 not including Kurzel or Francou. At least Coulter played his first game foir the year last week in the ressies!

P.s. Jimmy - your statement "they certainly do have a few injuries...about on par with what we and every other club have had to deal with...shoes on the other foot now hey fellas

Are you talking now or in the past because have you seen your list presently? Two only and hardly household names either?
The bays have one injury officially listed as well so they are hardly having to deal with it! You should be be careful how your word your posts if you meant the past and not the present which you surely could not have?

Jimmy you seem a bit obsessed with the NAFC, you like to have a quick stab at every opportunity.

We do have better depth than normal this year, but when they are first tier players its hard to cover no matter what your depth is. Centrals found this last year, they had some of their best players out and struggled so dont crap on about that. We are going to struggle this week, i just hope the boys who do make it on to the park give 100% and at least make a game of it.

Ive had the opposite happen this week Fatal, every fan who isn't a North fan I've talked to seems to me to be talking about North's injuries and every North fan I've chatted to this week hasn't brought it up once!

PS I'd just like to point out to those who state (not on here) that there's too many North threads on here that 95% of them are started by non North fans!

PPS I'd kill for an injury list like West or Sturt, luckily for them they've got a pretty good injury list to work with!

PPPS I'd rather be getting injuries now than in August/September/October but I do have concerns with North's training regime but time will tell over the year if they're wrong and I'm right or vice versa.
