15 minute rule is a joke, like watching U10's and must be looked at...

The 15 minute rule must have been brought in to encourage the 30+ blokes to continue having a kick. It's the only reason I can think of, keeping the numbers up for all clubs. All sad and another clear indication of the spiralling standard of our competition. Just another reason for League restructures to be put forward.

I'd like to see a vote, who thinks that GF & PL need to merge or at least some meetings organized to guage the feasibility. My vote is the strongest of YES's

Totally agree WCP, the leagues need to be proactive. As I see it a merger is inevitable and there is a danger of leaving the run too late...

15 minute rule is because of the u/10's playing on the same ground as seniors. If B grade was 20 minute 1/4's the u/10's would start at about 7:30am. u/10's would need to play there games under lights it would be that early.
YES, should look at merging with GFFL.

They wouldnt stop the clock JQ, just 1 example of how to waste time. What if you were 5 points down and the oposition when kicking out from fullback after a point played on and kicked it back thru the goals out of the ground 4 times (4points). That would have to kill 4 or 5 mins.

The 15min quarters in Bs was brought in when u11s became U10s and u12s. There was talk of playing the juniors on another day eg Sundays but all clubs wanted all sides to play on the same day at the same ground. A grade cannot start any later as it's almost dark now when they finish. So, B grade became 15mins. Must admit, I didn't mind when I was a B grade runner tho!

How long do under 10's games go for???
what about playing the under 10's on the 2nd oval at Ravendale, therefore every side plays there every week and have an 8am, 8.45am and 9.30am start ??
I know there would be issues if there was a game at Wangary...just something to consider??? Parents of under 10 players would be more qualified to comment than me...

I think it's a good idea as well to be honest Piesy. If I'm playing 15 minutes is well long enough before a rest and if I'm not playing, an hour of viewing the two's standard is definitely enough. What's the average amount of goals per side each week 6-8, pathetic really!! Sccoby will dob 50 at his rate and win the goalkicking by 30....

Why did they sack you biggles? What were the reasons given?

havent been outright sacked mate just informed unoficially that i had nothing to do with the clubs resurgence last year they just had a good group and that my form suggests i will not make the A Grade side next year. Anyway its early days yet maybe they are right and i'm too old to play we will see...

boags...your new found diplomacy and insight is truly inspirational...future president in the making once your playing days are over...maybe after round 7?
With 4 junior grades and 2 senior grades playing on the same day, something had to give. When you have 35 under 10's trying to get a game, it's a bit harsh to give them only 20 mins each week, which was the case originally. Ressies unfortunately were the logical grade to cut for all the reasons previously mentioned. The only rule I don;'t agree with is the 14 man rule. SHould be that if a team only has 14 players then they can field a side, but the opposition can field up to 18...their decision.
And honestly, 15 min qtrs is sufficient given the fitness levels / age of many participants.
grub, the kick into the school grounds towards the end of the game to waste time almost backfired for us on Saturday...ask morts

Cool, I get that. I'm in favour of the clock stopping for B's. Sorry, didn't explain well. 15 min quarters but stop the clock in the second half maybe for the afore mentioned occurances.

How about someone playing at Ravendale ! before we start allocating junior games there bish. Parents response to playing some juniors at a different oval was an overwhelming NO.. many have kids in 10's & 12's so it is just too hard. Parents ferrying between netball, hockey and football every saturday...all we need is another venue to travel too.

I think Ressies have time on in the finals. Says on the fixture but i don't have one handy. Tried http://www.plfl.com.au/ to confirm but the site is having some fiscal issues.

BB06 pic of the day

Postby WhiteTips » Thu May 11, 2006 5:10 pm

On a lighter side to today's bickering, wouldn't it be good if ravendale complex could get a unisex sauna for the netballers and the footy players?
