Magical Multis

Postby Mulligain » Wed May 07, 2008 11:39 am

I just got odds of $130 on a Adelaide Crows premiership / joel corey brownlow.

6 dollar investment for a possible $1000 return. Not bad.

I Agree with Bayman.

Current TabSportsbet odds
Crows Premiers $13.00
Corey Brownlow $11.00

Going on these prices, should be getting at least $143. $130 is UNDERS.

Sportbet have Corey and Adelaide both at $14.00 so the Double would be $196 so $130 is BIG UNDERS.

And given that there is some dependency in these two events (if Corey wins the Brownlow that indicates that Geelong have been playing well and hence Adelaide's price for the premiership should be longer), then your odds should be greater than the product of the two events (14 x 14 or whatever), so you should be getting over 200/1.

didn't stop RObert Harey winning the Brownlow back to back, when the Crows did like-wise with the Premiership...

What? I don't accept that as an argument.

More often than not, a brownlow meddalist does NOT win a flag in the same year.

Yes, but the Brownlow medallist would come from the premiership team more than once every 16 years, so there is some sort of positive correlation - players from teams who finished higher do better overall in the Brownlow than players from teams who finished lower.

Just to add a bit more to the banter..

Corey last year had statisticall a career year with game averages of
26 disposals
5 marks
5 tackles
This year he has been able to manage game averages of
30 disposals
5 marks
5 tackles

The problem..he had a streak like this last year that didnt result in votes....
2007 was also a career year for Brownlow Votes for him with ----12 a long way from the top
