Aerie I'm pretty sure there will be four on the bench given that it is an interstate match and the VFL have a four man bench.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

A definite surprise to me that Zorzi couldn't even make the squad.
Has been highly rated around our club for his performances this year, as well as on radio. Let's face it, he's seen plenty of the ball. Sure he lacks height but he has been a consistently strong performer in this comp (last year was injury plagued) and deserved to make the squad IMHO.
Steve Bradbury and Michael Milton. Aussie Legends.

1. The squad can be added to
2. Why cant Chambers, Perrie and Alleway make up our 3 Talls in the forward line.
3. The above scenario doesnt leave a spot for Hargs and dont forget Havelburg is still in the mix.

Remember as far as coaches go, none of the current club coaches want the distraction of doing the State job so outside of them, who else would anyone suggest. :?

i think this game is almost as bad as the 150 afl game!!!
how many of the people playing for SA are south aussie???

callinan, hayes, backwell, alleway, allen, clayton, AHCHEE, Chambers, Perrie are all interstaters not sure bout a few other players because except for the roosters and centrals the rest of the SANFL clubs have bad websites with nothing about there players

His SANFL coaching record couldn't possibly of got him the job as state league coach or do you honestly believe that it was his superior coaching ability that got SA over the line last match ?

IIRC his record was pretty good when he first got the job and he hasn't coached a losing side the SANFL has seen no need to remove him from the job.
Makes sense to me.
Just as he did a good job at Assistant Coaching in the AFL perhaps one off matches suit his style too.
If it ain't broke don't fix it, his record is better than Graham Cornes, Neil Kerley and Jack Cahill at state level.

Last season of coaching in SANFL, North finished 9th and in 6 years of coaching made finals once.

Hardly a record that looks great on the resume' and worthy of coaching our state side I wouldn't of thought.

Totally agree Smithy...

Although I may be a tad biast here, I think the State Coaching job should be reward for the previous years Premiership Coach, so Roy Laird should get the gig IMHO. Plus I reckon there is probably a few blokes from other clubs that wouldn't mind being coached by Lairdy as he clearly has a great history and credentials. Just IMHO as I'm sure there will be others out there who either disagree or have their own thoughts and opinions on who should get the gig...

I would have thought that maybe Sammy Rudolph may have got a look in the Squad has been outstanding all year. Gives you the run from defence and plays on guys bigger than him regularly and hasn't been beaten yet this year. Same could be said for Sherwood.

If they are picking the team on this seasons form the Ahchee will playing CHF.

I can't believe Passador hasn't been selected - he's a better forward than Hargraves and he would be a better tandem with Chambo as well. 17 goals in 3 league games plus 10 in 2 previous reserves games. That makes 27 goals in 5 games and can't even make the initial squad - now that is a joke. Don't know why I expected any different though, Darrel Hart is the coach afterall    .

What about Passador. He should be added. The best forward in the comp at the current time.

I don't think reserves form counts too much in regard to State form, if he couldn't even make his own league side for a couple of weeks I doubt a state call up will occur. He hasn't even been the first choice full forward for his own team.
Compring Passadoer to Hargarves would be like comparing me to Barrie Robran.
How the hell do you know Passador and Chambers would be a better tandem?
And why wouldn't you expect anything different with Darel Hart as coach?
He's undefeated as a State Coach and like Mick Nunan is one of the few state coaches in the history of the game to be undefeated.
Does that mean you don't expect anything else but the best side selected and another win? That's the only thing that would make sense. :?

Agree with you on Treeby.

Can't agree re Passador. Reserves is reserves...

Using the philosophy about Passador, Ive heard of a bloke who's averaging 9 goals a game in Southern Football League C Grade so he should be in ahead of all of them.

Passador has only spent time in the 2's as he come back from injury - he wasn't dropped there on poor form. Has been playing as key forward the last 3 weeks as has been seen by the move of Schwarze to back line. 16 goals in 3 weeks is damn good form. He is actually quite mobile forward could even play across HF if need be. He just doesn't seem to be recognised by Hart is more of what I'm saying. Then again many Eagles stars aren't considered as was the case when Treeby was excluded from the original squad.
