thanks for that SMAC.

My thanks mainly go to the members who have appreciated the acceptance of the quiz room.
I must say my intentions were only to fill in the quiet time between the off season of football.
Going by the response it appears the quizroom is here to stay.
SO to all those members who have entered the room and answered the questions i thank you.

again many thanks

Is this a silly question, but why are you called "magpie in the 80's" if you support Glenelg?

Well done Mags!

TS, he was a Hahndorf player.

The question I have is, why do you have an apostrophe in 80's Mags? ;)
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

It's interesting with the apostrophe, you see a lot of businesses use it when grammatically it should be used - Hungry Jack's should really be Hungry Jack is. I think it's done that way (and I use it if I feel like it) because it looks better than Hungry Jacks'.

And congratulations to magpie, a most valued contributor to this site. :)

Spelly, it seems Hungry Jack's is written that way to represent a form of ownership:

Hungry Jack's restaurant shortened to Hungry Jack's

To show how smart I am I have researched this on Wikipedia which says:

"When Burger King decided to expand its operations into Australia, it found that its business name was already trademarked by a man running a small takeaway food shop in Queensland. As a result, Burger King provided the Australian franchisee, Jack Cowin, with a list of possible alternative names that the Australian Burger King restaurants could be branded as. Cowin selected the "Hungry Jack" brand name, one of Pillsbury's US pancake mixture products, and slightly changing the name to a possessive form by adding an apostrophe 's' thus forming the new name Hungry Jack's"

Back on topic - well done M80s on 10,000 the work you must put in to those quizzes is phenomenal =D>
