The same issues are being raised in Victoria. Over here, Ambos have been showing off their new "humane restraint devices" to control violent "Ice" addicts as several Ambos have been assaulted, some sufficiently to have quit the job since. The combination of alcohol induced disinhibition and methamphetamine and its relatives having a stimulant effect is a growing problem.

Interestingly, back in the early 1960s in SA, you could buy amphetamine and methamphetamine over the counter in Pharmacies as an appetite suppressant. The culture was different and abuse of drugs was relatively uncommon.
