Re: Round 9: Norwood vs Glenelg Review
Bits and pieces from my posts on the Redlegs forum...
Glenelg are good, very, very good and I expect them to be Grand Finalists this year. They are strong all over the ground and have strong bodies. Their work around the stoppages is extremely impressive as not only are they responsible defensively, they are great offensively too. They apply a lot defensive pressure, there tackling is first rate and they are also skilled and quick with their disposal and decision making. They made us look absolutely pathetic tonight which we were.
Norwood FUMBLED ALL NIGHT LONG. I know the conditions were slippery out there and it was hard to pick the ball cleanly up off the deck but Glenelg seemed to be reasonably clean. We only had a handful of players who managed to pick it up cleanly tonight. Our skills were absolutely appalling, tackling non existant, and no pressure applied all night. Disgraceful right from the outset.
Bode has added another dimension to the Glenelg forward line and with forwards like Grima, Sellar, McConnell and Kirby, your forward line is very dangerous. You've got a number of hard, skillful, disciplined midfielders who will work for one another.

Keeping a lid on it....
Fisher is a gun and yet all the Glenelg supporters near me rarely stopped bagging him all night when he had the ball. He's a terrific in and under midfielder and I'd love him at the NFC.

2 represents the 2 premiership points Norwood should have got in each of the matches so far.

Where the hell have these Glenelg supporters come from (and that was a question being asked by the Glenelg supporters I was hanging with).
I thought the Bays support outnumbered Norwood on Coopers Hill at last year's game. Not this year though, it looked about even. Not that I wandered far from my perch, so how would I know....
That was about as close to perfect a game of footy as you'll ever see from Glenelg. Only the forwards could add a little more polish to their game; a few shots at goal were missed or didn't make the distance, one or two marking contests were fluffed. Other than that the Bays' game was perfect. The contrast with Norwood's game was black and white: the Legs were truly woeful. Not one position was won by a Norwood player tonight.
Take heart Legs fans, your mob won't do that poorly again. Ironic that the last time I saw such a debacle it was the same two teams on the same ground, but with the roles reversed. The 'legs fans were good humoured and gracious winners back then; I hope our fans treated you lot with as much respect.

i truly find that hard to believe as all true bay supporters know how importatnt he is to our team structure, i liken him to chris mcdermott, whose hard work may not be always evident, i take it you werent on coopers hill?

I ought to amend that:
Norwood's backlines, while well beaten, weren't woeful. They did all the right things, hassled the ball carrier, spoiled, harassed, etc. Glenelg's forwards were simply better tonight. The rest of the Legs side, well....

To score 1.3 in perfect night football conditions is disgraceful.

Glenelg supporters have been "mobbing up ' on the hills away from Glenelg for a while eg finals last year , Souths hill and Coopers Hill has been happening for a while. But at other grounds nothing. Success brings the supporters out but why they stand together who knows.

I've possibly been to more games then you, and as Stampy says, the Bays fans love him!

NO
well as i keep telling everyone norwood can't kick a winning score (i didn't think they'd only kick 1 though) i'll suggest that it has something to do with goals kicked in a quarter from week to week, not sure which quater though as they were goal less in all bar 1 quarter tonight

Re: Round 9: Norwood vs Glenelg Review
I spent half of the night on Coopers Hill and the other half behind the Northern Goal and I did not hear one Glenelg supporter bag Fisher.
The Norwood supporter in the beanie behind the Northern goals who spent 99% of the night bagging out Norwood players who were nowhere near the play on the other hand.....

What about the disgraceful display of the Norwood "supporters" bagging the crap out of their players as they came off the ground after the match.
Pathetic

That was nothing compared to what us North supporters give our team, can you blame them?

who the supporters or the players
simply norwood were outclassed in all aspects of the game, but these 1 goal games are really games that should be discounted by both teams in the sense that these type of one sided games just happens
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway
