And obviously you think different, but a first time ump is never going to be a superstar, are they?

He should do some practice over the week and might come up ok. Word is he's going to start by learning how to take a deep breath, putting the whistle in his mouth, then blowing out. Then at least next week he'll know what that silver thing in his hand is for!!

So better to blow the whistle and potentially make the wrong decision, than no decision at all you reckon?

Seriously though, people wonder why we have no decent umps. Its cos they get shat on too much as beginners and don't carry on with it..

Spot, Stengle was the other I had heard. Believe he is still tossing up between Kilburn and Salisbury North.

From the info I've recieved this bloke (about 20?) knew what he was doing, paying SPOC everything and Para Hills nothing. Surely its up to the clubs to ensure that someone taking on the responsibilty has to have some basic knowledge of the game. I know its hard to attract personnel to clubs, but surely clubs have a responsibilty to be aware of who they are putting out on the oval. It will only be a matter of time before a serious incident occurs due to the sometimes obvious one sided umpiring displays.

Injuries to matt Poole, shaun gatto and daniel walton. Poole out for a few, the rest should come up.
Donnelly back this week, probably through the two's after walton kicked five in three quarters on saturday.

I was of the understanding you were one of his trusted advisers. I thought he had you looking at the Walkerville game a few weeks back for him, I'd imagine you're in the loop with Jacko. The Big Shrek wrote:THE BIG SHREK IS BACK!
Great win for us on the weekend over Walkerville
I saw Andy at Uni during the week and he threatened to beat me up for pretending to be him the other day. I just saw it as a good opportunity to disguise my identity after the furore at the club.
I will not be censored though, good luck to Jacko if he can find me, I wont be putting my hand up in any team meeetings.
