Chris Judd

Talk on the national game

Chris Judd

Postby sydney-dog » Fri May 19, 2006 7:40 am

Given that Chris Judd plays is 100th game this weekend, I was interested in peoples views...

In my time, I have not seen a better player in regards to their first 100 games, Chris is explosive, he racks up the touches, uses the ball beautifully, kicks goals and wins clearences

Ian Stewart's first 100 games > Chris Judd's first 100 games. Correct me if I'm wrong but Stewie played in a flag and had won two brownlows already in first 100 matches. Other players to challenge Juddy would be Hayden Bunton (bit before our time of course but read a book and the story is told) and John Coleman became a league legend in just 98 games. When you read those names, you realise that Judd is in pretty good company.

I wrote earlier in the year that Judd was overrated but I was wrong. The guy is a freak.

How are some of the figures he has been posting of late.Regularly 30+ touches,10+ inside 50,2-3-4 goals,5-6 tackles,8-10 clearances. The most complete player in the league, and in a competition full of stars (the term superstar is grossly over used) he is a superstar.

For me I wasn't just talking about stats, I never seen Stewart play and did not see much of Bunts, I was not looking at record books in regards to medals or premierships, just purely comparing Judd to the many hundreds of players that I have been able to watch first hand, and I don't believe I have seen a better player in regards to his first 100 games

Bit before my time but there's no doubting the excellence of Robran. Not too many Robrans or Eberts coming out of the SNAFL these days as they are snaffled by the AWFUL too quickly. The Vics have scammed us big time. Hang on, there is one Ebert LMAO....thought I'd get that in while Boon is still stuck in the corner :P

You gotta be joking. When the Ruccutios, Cornes' and McLeods of the current era hang up their boots they will be fondly compared to some of the other names listed above.
