What a sensational game!!!!!!
I'm over the moon, to me this win was almost as important as last week.
Gutsy, gusty effort by the lads in a game tht was non stop attacking (despite the scoreboard) from end to end.
A great night to watch a great win, we looked like we were strulggling at half time but Jars worked his magic yet again.
Motlop was sensatinal and if the game was closer easily the matchwinner, to this moment I"m still astounded that some people would question his comittment to the red and white, he was great, easily the best forward on the ground despite playing most of the game from the wing.
His mark (?) in the goal square at the Northern end was something to behold, I think the umpire paid it purely on his unbelievable leap.
You're a champ Daniel, its amazing how well a player will play with a coach that doesn't base his gameplan around satisfying the ego of Tredrea.

Nah, I had a night off, I didn't even take the camera as getting decent shots at Norwood's crappy lighting needs a camera on a tripod/bipod which I couldn't be **** with doing, thought I'd actually enjoy a game for a change.

But I plan to make up for it tomorrow as Borat is giving me a lift to the Port v Glenelg game.

All the more sweeter for the 3 Norwood fans on here that have supported Port and Central against us (which is an unfair indication of Norwood fans from the dozens I talked to at the game tonight and during the week and I have a lot of respect for the Norwood FC and their fans) but it makes it oh soo sweet, thanks guys, you know who you are!

Just for a different point of view, I (and most North/Norwood fans I stood with tonight) thought that Steven Bayley, ie Albino man was absolutely senational, easily BOG IMHO.
It's no coincidence he won the Norwood forum player of the year last year, he was fantastic.

I don't want to detract from the victory as it was well deserved and North are the better team, but I am not understanding this comment about winning "against the odds". Even without those players, North still had a better group of players than we did. Norwood weren't full strength.

Yes, the thing that has possibly prevented him from playing AFL is his disposal which can be wayward at times. Having said that, watching some of the disposal from AFL players, you'd have to wonder why

Looks like North are going to have a very good year, the finals should be interesting with Central, North, Port and possibly Eagles toughing it out for the flag, and Glenelg looks like being there as well. Norwood's effort has been terrific in 2006 but we just seem to lack the playing depth against the better teams.

Quite simple really, any team at any time winning with 8 of their best 12 players out (not just 21) including their captain and vice captain againt a top 4 side near full strength at their home is regarded as against the odds IMHO but having said that I do agree with your comment about the quality of North's depth. Great to see 3 youngsters in the team (1 first game and 2 2nd gamers), I'm not sure where those knockers who accused North of not giving their juniors a go are now.

Interesting little exercise I did last night was adding up the games experience of both squads in the budget last night.

Norwood 1300 games
North 1057 games (includes Motlops 17 for us that the Budget left out)

No, but he does coach Daniel and the side around Daniel, hence why he's called a coach.
I thought it was obvious that in a lot of players make clangers if coached incorrectly or being placed in a team which would enhance errors to occur.
He's showed before and again last night that his skill level has nothing to do with it, once again, obvious I thought.
If a player shows good skills with every coach but one then surely that player shouldn't be questioned but the coach involved should be?
Having said that, Daniel has much more interest/heart invested with North and I thank the Power for bringing him home.

To tell the truth, all I'm concerned about is if we can keep him for 3 games so he can get some action in September/October which he won't do with Choko.

If Port was full of big boys then going on your logic they wouldn't require a coach. Probably not a bad idea with Choko's recent gameplans.
Port should base their forward line around Damon White, Tredrea's a hack and has no right to have the word champion in the same sentence as his name.
When talking to a couple of Power trainers I also found out not only is Tredrea a hack but that he's an A Grade rude prick to his own club's support staff.

I wasn't the one who brought up Williams' and Tredrea's name in the SANFL section. I was merely replying to your msgs being put in there. By your reasoning Barrie Robran was a hack because he didnt do much when he came back from his injury (no i dont think he is, he was a champion, i'm just making a point). If Tredrea treats the support staff like that, thats not good at all, i agree.........hopefully though he'll never resort to showing a complete lack of respect to the club's champions by cutting up old guernsies etc of past champions like a certain coach who used to have singular goals (as i said Robran was a champion and deserved far more respect than that for his contribution to the NAFC).

I'll make this my final comment on Tredrea on this thread......i agree hes playing fairly ordinarily at the moment, but to judge him on the last month's performances instead of the years when he was named All Australian is a bit unfair i believe. I'm sure the NAFC wouldnt want to have their performances in the 1980's based on a certain grand final towards the end of the decade.

Ahhh yes the 1905 result, we're all familiar with that game. I mean how many of us werent at that game, that game has a great deal of relevance to footy within the last 30 years or so (which is what we mainly discuss on this forum) in the SANFL. 1 goal in a game 100 years or so ago when obviously (ah theres that word again) the amount of goals scored on average was a lot less that in modern times, well i dont believe it has much relevance to the football world in todays times.

As for the game itself, well my great great great grandmother was there that day, she rocked up in her horse and cart. She was going to take Edmund Barton with her but he couldnt make it as he had a date with Napoleon Bonaparte's daughter that day.
