My values were as different from the average in the late 1970s as they are now. I remember being called a "fascist" for positive comments about Mal Fraser, who was left wing of Bob Hawke, looking at it in retrospect. And I copped flack for buying property in my 20s while my peers "partied" in the style of the time.
