Where are the Cats ???

Talk on the national game

Mate, 24 and a teacher, well that just sums it up beautifully, I can only think of one thing that could be worse, that is being 24 and a copper..

Maddogmile, before you attack someone sarcastically or personally at least have the balls to put up your opinion and supportive argument.

I have never met REB and would not know him if I fell over him but at least he has declared his views and whether we agree or disagree with them he has put forward an argument to support his views, he has attempted to identify root causes for Geelongs poor form, which range from poor coaching to concerns regarding it' midfield.....

So maddogmike, tell me living in the UK how many cats games have you seen this year, secondly please explain to your wide audience what you believe is the root cause for the cats poor form this year

I think REB has made some valid points worth debating, I agree I don't think Bomber is coaching well, his body language during and after a game is extremely poor and disappointing, when your side is going through a rough trot, the first person the players look too is the coach, if the coach looks down in the dumps then his players will react accordingly, if the coach is up beat and positive well this will help lift the players spirits.......

I also agree in regards to Gazza, this guy is more than a forward pocket specialist, lets get him around the footy and involved in a game, the midfield at the moment lacks any work ethic at all, their not working for each other defensively and when they have the ball their not prepared to run through lines, mate it is the responsibility for the coach to get this message through........

In regards to Bombers record, most clubs can say we were a kick away from the finals or Prelim or GF, reality is they got knocked out, this is Bombers 7th year as coach, he has had minimal success, this list has been together for 4 years now, the club has worked their butts off, off the field, it's the players turn to work theirs off on the field.........

I think u must have been a little bit sleepy there sydney dog to read my reply. Im afraid you have also jumped on your ultra high-horse. Seems like you must suffer from small man syndrome.
Im actually quite proud to be a teacher. I get paid to travel overseas and play sport, I get to go into schools while Im overseas and meet kids and share the Aussie way of life and enjoy a bit of banter with them about the Ashes, Rugby and Soccer.
So unfortunately there aren't too many people who are my position to be paid to travel overseas to play sport.

If you read my post I did say I only listen to the games. But I do get to listen to games on the internet as well as watching a game on a friday night replayed from the week b4. My argument was that the week before against the Saints Bomber Thompson used "flooding" tactics to choke the Saints up and they ended up winning. Unfortunately these sort of tactics dont always work week in week out, as the opposition can find ways to encounter them.
But the way I put things forward were that a flood can occur when a team isnt playing good footy and it appears that they have been instructed to "flood" the oppositions forward line. You cant just blame the coach for an inept playing list that didnt perform on the night. It was only 7 weeks ago that they won the NAB cup.
Bombers body language didnt look too bad when they beat the saints and unfortunately I do know a bit more about the inner part of the club than you will care to know.

Make sure you have a big person to help you back on the high horse if you cant reach next time Sydney Dog

Mate I am glad that you love being a teacher, I too get to travel the world with my work, I have degree in Physio and a masters degree in Business, I have my own practice, I have my own foundation that supports Australian Street Kids, I do plenty of work for the AFL at grass roots level, I have played footy at a reasonably high level and have coached at Sydney SFL Level, I represented my country in boxing at international level and won numerous titles........

But we are not here to compare resumes,

Now of course Bomber was up beat when the Cats beat the Saints, maybe he might try it after a loss and try and inject some positive energy in to his players.........

Now to your point about me suffering from small man's syndrome "I don't think so"

My point is, you had a crack at another member for given his views, you called him an idiot and had a crack at him through sarcasm, and by doing so you added nothing other then Bomber is doing a good job because last year we were a kick away from a prelim final.........

I have no issues with heavy debate, but you made it personal, you made it emotive, that makes you the small man

Still waiting for you to display your remarkable insight Mike. You must indeed be incredible if you can work out so much about the AFL as it stands from your handy vantage point of the United Kingdom. Now don't be so selfish and please respond to my comments instead of attempting to project your own shortcomings on to other posters.

Now that you are getting into Syd Dog that would make it about four posters you've got stuck into now..and yet I am the idiot and he is the small man? Me doth think you protest a little too much. If you are going to say that someone has no idea, please illustrate why this in fact the case with facts or insight that you have gleaned from your profession and your close knit ties with the inner sanctum of the Geelong Football Club. Come on mate, give me something to hang my hat on.

You are looking like a bigger Goose each time you post and that is becoming quite a hard act to follow. If you were half as smart as you thought you were you would be snaffling Bill Gates' monopoly or at least jagging a million on Eddie's old show. If you were a tenth as smart as you thought you were you would remember with that brilliant photographic memory of yours that I called you Dad because you called me Son. While you continue to amuse me with the comical nature of your posting, your towering arrogance that dwarfs the Petronas towers doesn't give us much to love about you.

So come on Mike, feel the love and don't hoard your awe inspiring intellect and encyclopedic knowledge of Australian Rules Football. Teach, not preach because if you are as good as you say you are you have so much more to offer this forum than the petty sniping and baseless arrogance that you have given us so far. Don't be such a hold out.

regards,

REB

Mate

I just feel sorry for the kids he is teaching

Footy is a subject that has varying opinions and theories, their is no right or wrong answers, the key is to support your theory, this is what you called good teaching.........

I can imagine one of his young students getting his assignment back, with no comment other then "You Idiot"

Maddogmike, now don't forget to sit down and take a piss before you go to bed, we don't want you wetting your bed now

As you say I am able to give my opinion about Geelong. I believe "in my opinion" lay off Bomber.

A nuffy is a person who generally has no idea about much at all, but thinks they do. Hence why this applies to you sydney-dog. I like the way you draw conlusions about my sexuality now. Well done.

If you read carefully at my 2nd post I stated that my views may be slightly shaded by the fact im overseas. I never said I had been to a Geelong game this year. Keep up with the times you old geezer. You are a big tough boxer, or so you like to tell everyone.

If you won numerous "international" titles then message me so I can read up all about your glamerous career. I really do look forward to it. I hope your name is J. Bugner, or J. Fenech that would be Specialllllllllllllll

REB - I can understand your frustrations about the Cats and the continuous loop the loop that their seasons tend to take. I am intrigued at their set up with one of the lads I used to play cricket with pulling on the boots for them. They are probably the team I follow 2nd only to my team. I just dont think blaming the coach is always the way to achieve success.

Maddogmike

Old, you don't even know my age, if early thirties makes me old well I must be, but then again, someone ones told me that you are only as old as the woman you feel and my wife well she is only 23, so in my books that makes me young.......

Mate, in regards to my boxing, don't wait up expecting a message, I have nothing to prove to you and I do not give a flying f#*k what you believe........

The bottom line is, I think your piss weak, your brave behind email but probably have never won a contested footy in your life,

So put up or shut up, when your back in Aust I will be more then happy to chatch up for a beer and talk footy and share life experiences, but I refuse to continue to get in an email war with someone has has shown no respect for anyone on this forum, and added no value other then entertainment through his shallow stupidity........

What does telling people how old your wife is have to do with anything that has been said? You are the one raising points that have nothing to do with the price of sliced bread.
