Sounds like he's hurt his left knee pretty badly.

looked like dislocated knee. disgusting on the replay, physio popped it back in before getting on strecher

however good win by SA, Schell and Inkster kept us in it as we struggled in the first quarter and half to get going

Pretty standard game, really. Probably if anyone was hoping for one like last year, they would be disappointed. Ball was slippery throughout the match. Can't remember who it was but a WA player was reported for cocking the elbow and collecting an SA player, again the name escapes me.

I quite enjoyed the game. The thing I liked especially was there were 22 guys out there in SA jumpers all having a red hot go. They all played their part and I don't think we had any passengers.

injuries

Postby RustyCage » Sat May 27, 2006 12:26 am

Did Warren come back on after qtr time? Eichners injury looks really bad. Dislocated knee cap at least, but the amount the knee hyperextended, there has to be some ligament damage. Was sickening to watch. Gowans injured his ankle, anyone else?

How did the cheersquad and banner look tonight?
Ironic that tonight I didn't go because of the weather down here yet last year I travelled over to Melbourne to see the state team play, I think its because its more fun away from home especially against the Vics.
(Plus I hate Adelaide Oval, especially at night away from the nicer months)

In the first quarter it didn't look like they were interested, but that changed in the 2nd. I don't think there were any other injuries apart from Eichner and Gowans.

In the 1st term SA had a little trouble with WA's surprising leg speed and precise kicking. Once they came to terms with this they were in business. I certainly didn't think they looked disinterested.

Another 2 goals to WA

WA 8-4
SA 7-7

You need to move down to civilisation Wedgie, no rain etc. in the city, perfect night for footy.

Wedgie, out of all the people I would expect to stay home for this match, you would be the last on my list.

The official crowd figure tonight was just over 5000 (5034 from memory?)

I was quite surprised by that - it looked like less than 3000 to me.

The banner was thrown together almost at the last minute!!!

It looked a tad amatuer-ish, but looked pretty good. As for the cheersquad, not as big as I thought it would be but we were still pretty loud. In fact there were some WA tossers in a corporate box just above us to our left giving us stick, we soon shut them up. I'll be recording the game tomorrow to DVD.
ARRIVE... RAISE HELL... LEAVE.

There's no way I was heading out in that weather, I've never seen it rain/flood/hail so quickly in my life, I would have been lucky to make it around the block!
(Certainly wouldn't have taken my camera out in that weather)
I think we would have received something like 7-8mms in a very short space of time, there's a quick mention of it on page 2 of the 'Tiser today. Weirdest thing I've ever seen, when I got home about 3.30pm it was black as a dogs gust over the hills and this thunderstorm actually went in the opposite direction to the way the weather normally heads and created havoc! 99% of the time weather we have here is the same if not more moderate than what's on the flats.
With the prospect of drinking XXXX gold in that weather or Coopers Pales at home in front of the fire it was a no brainer. ;)

If it was today or tomorrow I'd definately have gone as it looks nice outside today although half of my garden is still underwater!
