Grub, Are you saying that your beloved Eagles got the rough end of the pineapple on Saturday?? That umpire that replaced Jonesy is a shocker but he made terrible decisions for both sides.. Do you think that he cost you victory?
Agree that MJ was very lucky, it was reckless and wouldn't have been surprised if he got reported and got a couple of weeks but the umps are very hesitant to report.

Will be interested to see who you give the votes to, plenty of good players for both sides.

tassies over LS...I would have thought LS for that one...there you go.
That Bostons B grade game sounds like not much has changed there. I guess if it's the same 3 blokes, at least the club can try to weed them out.
Any word on Schuppas?
And WTF is going on with Mallees? That June clearance cut off looms...

First I've heard of it, and heard no one mention his name on Saturday.....

Rangers had an easy win over a young Pecker outfit. Your right about their forward line Grub, non existent!! Brooksy was squatting at CHB for the best part of the third quarter, ball not even looking like getting up there. Cost ourselves a massive win with some very ordinary kicking at goal(not that I can talk with some of my efforts Saturday!!) however there was some clean ball movement and the run was good after interleague. I can do our votes

3 - Matt Parker (sensational, class above at times and put his body on the line. Billyo could have cleaned him up as he was drifting with the flight at CHF, the goat came through but Parks avoided him in mid air and hit the ground running to bang one home.)

2 - Brody Murphy (sat on the wing by himself all day, was our marking link man on the wing and after running his 10 continually put us inside 50m)

1 - Adam Hywood (lively in the forward pocket and found some confidence at senior level)

Summed it up pretty well WCP - that play by Matt Parker I reckon was individual play of the day - could have been a nasty hit but he was classy enuf to avoid it as you mentioned
Importance of Ackers was underlined an Saturday - just what we need - Geez he's strong.
Besides young Woody, also very impressed with Scotty who is the essence of a defensive footy player, young Foster was good and Puck was as cool as a cucumber.

How interesting the contrast between the young Pecker guns in Kingo Bilney, Brad Crombie etc who literally tore our U17's apart with run, run and more run and yet were very hesitant to take more than a couple of steps in the A''s. A real confidence thing this game isn't it. If anyone wants or needs a couple of hard training nights, suggest they get out to MR U17's training this week. Suggest it will be on.

I don't reckon MR 17's will be the first, or last 17's to hit the track hard following a MP game...
Those youngsters that step up within a season are the one's that'll make it. But it's intimidating, in any league.

Not for one minute did I think the umpiring cost us the game scoob, it was just comical at times thats all I was saying.
Why are the umps hesitant? Do they have line dancing commitments on Tuesday nites? Very even trying to pick best players.... told ak he could do the votes. What are the votes from W v B....btb/TRR
Never got reported for elbowing zoo, may have been late on occasions due to my lack of speed thats all!
What about this on Saturday a drunk supporter at the bar rings Wally during the third term and Wally answers and the drunk tells him to make a few moves.... Class act! Know anything about it zoo?
WCP will appolagise to all players this Tuesday nite for the way he presented himself in that state on Saturday. Has copped a 2 match suspension from the club!

How funny was it when Ackers held Waylon down on the ground, his hand nearly covered his entire head forcing him to chew on some dirt, and Waylon kept coming back for more!! With blokes like Ackers and Jason running around, we don't seem to get too much sniping compared to some of the stories you hear when other sides play them.

Panther, I did hear that your lack of goalkicking practice and poor decision making was a key point in your B grade getting rolled on the weekend. A little magpie was very quick to point out your stuff ups... Makes you wonder if he ever makes mistakes on the footy field..

3 good games this week, Will be interesting to see how Tassies go against Waybacks this week. If Schuppan doesn't play I reckon Tassies can make a game of it.. Souths when they get up and running play some quality footy and may push the Rangers and the blockbuster between Mallee's & Bostons will be very very interesting, Does anyone give the Tiges a chance to win their 1st legimate game in years.

Whats your thoughts fellas?

Grub Sports Bet POTY Rd 4 Waybacks Vs Bostons

Postby bluestheboy » Mon May 29, 2006 12:09 pm

3 Votes: Darren Gregory...Given more reign and impressed with attach on ball. Will be a key player in coming weeks when Duncan Moore assumes World Cup duties......2 Votes: Daniel Schuppan (W)...had the ball on a string early and finished up forward where he kicked a handy 6...Knee injury took shine off day...hoping for the best...1 Vote Joe Cragg Sapsford (W) Strong overhead all day and gave great drive from half back.

Funny you say that, Scooby. I was going to put it out there as well...ie could Bostons notch a win? Sadly I think no. It'd be a big day for footy if they did, that's for sure.

Mallee's will still win, the smaller less intimidating Tigers will enable the Pecker youngsters to step up and they will run rings around them. With Mallee's having no forward line, if I were B Ramsey I'd play a really strong CHB line and see if they can't repel them often enough to keep it a close match and maybe if still in touch at half time a win could be produced rebounding from half back. Not likely though.....

Interesting to hear about the elbowing incident in the T V LS game. Did I read correctly - the culprit was once again MJ?

That's what I gathered out of it.
Very good player, but prone to bouts of 'losing it'. Could cost him a Mail Medal one day...
