any standouts from the opposition sides. i've only played a handful of games, when we played Modbury one of their wingers got a lot of it, Kenzo or something like that, red head with dreads... interesting. didn't really get the hard ball but killed us on the outside. and another shortish bloke that played on the ball got a bit of it too... not many others from any other side comes to mind.

not really many key forwards doin the job every week either...

that redhead kinda looks like josh thurgood who used to play for the hawks...

you know, the one spider everitt said looked like he had sneezed into a tin of milo? :p

Yeah kenton Johns is his name, been in pretty good form lately, quick with good skills!

the thing about his hair is that umpires will remember him just cos he stands out... and because he gets a few kicks on the outside...

Does anyone know what the score from the Edwardstown v Uni and why hasn't it been updated? Is there controversy surrounding the result? Round 13 will put an end to alot of the talk regarding Modbury! I can vouch that Modbury has received a number of injuries in higher grades, 6 and 7 changes in the B grade side alone in the past two weeks. Better for them now than later in the season.

well the result looks like it went in Unis favour, they've been given the win...

and Modbury have a lot of depth from what i understand so it shouldn't slow them down too much, they've kicked almost 30 goals in the past two weeks so the changes aren't affecting them too much. the ground size will be different for them, they won't be able to find the same amount of space as they did late in the game last time, our ground changes things dramatically.....

My Tips for 28/06/2008

Scotch OC vs Ovingham (by 10 goals)
Payneham NU vs PHOS Camden (by 5 goals)
Edwardstown vs Modbury (by a country mile)
North Pines vs Pembroke OS (close but based on recent, excluding modbury game, form should just get over the line)
Wingfield vs Adelaide University (by 6ish goals)

looks like a good week to be playing away from home,

what are your tips?

i think you're being a bit lenient on some of the margins... if Ovies don't get up by about 100pts then i wouldn't be happy, i can't play this week, have some other commitments...
PNU aren't too flash and i think if PHOS turn it on they could notch a 10 plus goal win.
Modbury are spanking everyone in the bottm 5 so i'd expect another 25 odd goal display
the Pines and Pembroke looks like the match of the round, it could put the Pines 2 games clear in 5th or bring Pembroke up on par with the Towns and Scotch one game behind Nth Pines and a fascinating race for fifth spot. i'd like to see Pembroke win to make it interesting...
and if Adelaide Uni only win by 6ish, they should be sacked... you have to kick 20+ against them.

Unis and Ovies are the only teams that have the quality to knock off Modbury so they need to keep smashing the bottom sides realistically, PHOS are weird, they got belted by Pembroke then came out to beat Unis by almost 100pts... can't pick them week to week...

Not many forwards but heard Klompy kicked 12 against pnu he must have kicked afew by now,Ryan number 6 for ovies will win medal easy.

yeah, agree that Rhino will be top three at least, he's had a stellar year so far, be close to have polled in every game... and Klompy... my guess is he told you how many he kicks, he'll tell ya how good he is.... he's got no real competition for big forwards now... if plugger didn't go down it would've been a good race but he should kick away now... without blokes like Rhino gettin the ball to him he'd struggle... hardly leaves the 40m arc at Ovies ground...

cooke's a lazy sucker that only plays home games cos he's not fit enough to run around a normal sized oval...

I remember back in the mid 90's playing against Ovies on their oval. It came down to a battle of attrition for the mid field and which team could kick longer and straighter out of the middle. A running game is significantly impeded on such a small oval. Not long to go now! Some big results on the weekend but nothing unexpected. Most teams seemed fairly inaccurate kicking more points than goals, still some 30 or so scoring shots to only a handful is still a good result.

i was kinda surprised with the Pines v Pembroke result... i thought it would be closer, but Pembroke must be like Richmond... a small purple patch then fall back into their hole!!!

the pines actually played some good footy on saturday. had 2 of their best players out and both are out for the year with Growler having some sort of foot injury and Shane Cambpell (easily winning the B&F at this stage) unexpectedly heading back to victoria. Hard to see them beating the sides above them without these guys. Some talk around the club that their full forward played his last game for the year as well, finally succumbing to his dodgy knees.
