CALL TO ARMS

Yellow Centre Circles and Yellow Umpires Flags?

SANFL JOINS CANCER COUNCIL’S CALL TO ARMS

This weekend is ‘Call to Arms’ and with no live AFL in Adelaide it’s your chance to get your footy fix at the SANFL.

The SANFL has decided get behind this great cause which was initially adopted by the Essendon Football Club who wore yellow arm bands in respect for their team-mate Adam Ramanauskas and his fight against cancer.

As part of the campaign at each SANFL ground the centre circle will be painted yellow, goal umpires will have yellow flags and there will be collectors at each gate for anyone who would like to make a donation.

In addition to the SANFL and its nine clubs, almost 1000 South Australian amateur teams have registered to support this cause.

SANFL Patrons can contribute to the fight against cancer by attending one of the 4 Round 13 matches this weekend or by logging onto http://www.calltoarms.com.au.

Another reason for the Glenelg match to get 10,000 instead of watching it on TV. It's been 7 years (to the round) since we last got a 10,000 minor round crowd.

I hope they did well out of today, considering how generous many SANFL fans have been in the past to various causes I am pretty sure plenty will have been raised towards it.

Thought the same myself!

Good to see the girls coming around Alberton today with the boxes today though, hopefully lots of money was made for a good cause! :D
