did u play a or b grade LM?

None, I nearly played, I haven't had a run this year.

Is that because of the numbers you have up there and the clubs youth policy?

We've got a heap out injured at the moment, numbers haven't been great on the track lately, if you don't train or ring through with a valid reason, you won't get a game. The coach went for some young fella's for the experience, as we have all year.

WOW... Zedman... not using injuries as an excuse are you...

Gee mate, what archive did you drag that comment out of, you only have to check the amateur site to see they've had a significant amount of changes over the last few weeks, I think they've battled well for what they've had to put up with.

It is from a while ago when I had strips torn of me for mentioning injuries were hurting greenacres, so I just thought I may bring up some comments that were said. injuries no excuse apparently that is a load of crap, from the top team to the bottom team, injuries affect results and are in fact an excuse.

Falcoln Chick was also quite adament injuries were no excuse as well but thats not here or there as far as I am concerned but Zed does know a bit about from footy from reading his posts. thats all. be careful posts dont come back to bit ya all when sitting on ya high horses passing judgement

OK, play on

There are 3 woeful ones, I'm not here to bag anyone so I'll leave it at that. Elizabeth, Plympton & Blackfriars all done pretty good jobs.

When is the Greenacres v Golden Grove match. Will Greenacres be back to their old form in time for the top of the table clash?

hi griffin..you been sitting on that for a while ???

to answer you..its still no, do YOU use injuries as an excuse ???, you seem to have an opinion on it??..injuries are not an excuse for losing..they are symptomatic to why you lost but if you put 18 on the park they have to represent the club as well as they can..i was asked if we could beat plympton and i said with the injuries we have had it would be hard..i dont see any excuse..i see my comment as stating why i think we will struggle against plympton this week..it wont be an excuse when we lose because every team has injuries..but for as far as a selection goes, the injury factor is to be taken into account when formulating a tip..you can go back under your rock now

Not going there mate, I'd hate to think that people cheat blatantly, I'd prefer to think that they had bad days.

IMO most of the umpiring has been ok, I haven't seen anything to make me think anyone is cheating, some may struggle with consistency, but I also haven't seen all of them.

The worst I have seen would be Rosewaters B grade umpire, bluntly cheats and the crowd think its quite funny and ok because its div 5 B grade.

I think it has to be one of the hardest jobs going around though so well done to those that do it and do it as fair as possible. Most of the umpires tend to umpire harder on their own club to not be called cheats, this is a better way than the other but still a cuse of frustration

Who do you follow? As long as the player going for the ball is getting protected and anything high is picked up, I tend not to whinge too much, I have seen some absolute crap so far this year, but few and far between fortunately.

however you would like to state it... a reason for poor performance "losing" is an excuse. The fact is "excuse" is just a dirty word no one wants to use in football circles, excuse is a reason.

Collins English Dictionary "Excuse - explanation offered to justify a fault etc. > put forward a reason or justification for a fault etc. > make allowances for.

I believe your quote was an excuse... making allowances for injuries as a reason for perhaps not being good enough to win. I agree every footy team worth their salt attempts to win with what they put on the park but dont avoid facts and use all your footy cliches to try and sound intelligent

You go hop under ya rock

I hate pedantic people, but griffin leaves me no choice.

The key word in your definition is "justify". Zedman was trying to draw the distinction between an excuse and a reason or explanation(without justification).

Put your dictionary back under the rock.

You wouldn't happen to wear #21 would you? Gave a couple of 25's away and dragged for doing so, also sent off with 2 of the Rosies guys by your umpire. I'm amazed you didn't put your own umpire in as you were bagging him most of the day as well! By the way your umpire is not a cheat but he's not the best i've seen. And yes I agree its not the easiest job in the world. The crowd were probably laughing at #21

thankyou shrek..well replied in my absence..i thought i made perfect sense but obviously not

griffen..your club couldnt cope with injuries..we saw that when farmers beat you..you dont have depth..thats no crime..lots of teams dont have depth..people selected smithfied to beat you the following week because you had injuries..they are not an excuse as to why you lost to them as well, you lost because you didnt have depth, depth would have covered your losses..like golden grove can with a great b grade side..injuries were the reason people tipped aganst you that week..hence why i will probably tip plympton to beat kenilworth..we will field 18 v 18 and the best team wins..no matter who is in or out..atm i think their 18 is better..que sera sera sunshine
