Must admit when I first saw it I had a laugh  Surely you would realise you cant drink whilst you goal umpire.

infact, you cant drink at all if you are any type of official during your fixture..

Interesting, but I reckon it happens at each game week in/week out. Theres always questionable decisions at each game. Whether it is blatant cheating or poor judgement is another question.

Exactly right, goal umpires were probably half cut anyway.

i'll comment seeing as i was playing in the game. i do belive it was a point which was given a goal but the greenacres goal umpire made some dodgy calls aswell, the only way the problem can be fix is the have neutral goal umpires like they do during the finals

ah, good Ive found someone who really knows. I think it may be an option for the SAAFL to decide the match of the round in every div1-7 round and make it compulsory to have neutral umpires in all positions. And if this doesnt happen I think we will all have to settle with the fact there only human.

ive been sent off once in my career which happened to be earlier this season when i told the Blackfriars goal umpire to take his headphones out of his ears after he blatantly missed a touched behind and called it a goal!!! Not the first time blackfriars goal umpire has been in the middle of some controversy!!!

I think we've found a contender for coward of the year. Number 12 from Greenacres... The guy just loves throwing his elbows around after contests and all over the ground... The young lad can mark a ball but that's about it! Dirty coward is all what he represents about himself. Nothing to do with the team at all.

I know why they now call him magic. If not i now do now anyway....

He plays for himself and only himself, and it's "magic" how no one knows how the hell he get's paid to what he calls "play" football. A good magician will never talk about his tricks tho so i'll give him that

Apart from that co(@smoker i thought the game was one of the most intese i've watched all year. the umps had some pretty poor decisions but hey it went both ways and they're out there giving it a go. If only blacks had of kicked straight they would've come home with the points.

Where's the GG v Greenies game being played this week? The rest of the results didn't surprise me. smithy's with a solid win again...

Indeed! i think i got at least 3 elbows to the back of the head.. not that it matters really a couple of eggs behind the ear, but it is a bit soft trying to razz things up behind play. a true testament to his style of football i guess.

Well done to the winners - it's coming down to the wire now... thoughts on relegations, finals etc.??

Number 12 is Nathan Wright. Does seem to find himself in the odd scrap and can get a little niggley. I haven't been following the form of div 5 this year, but he would be one of the better players in that comp. He was one of the better players in the last two years of state u23 games.

Central United gave it a real crack on Saturday, Smithfield couldn't shake them for the 1st half. It was 7.6 to 6.0 midway through the second quarter, they play Ingle Farm at home this week, can they break the shackles?

A few great games this weekend.

Yes, very similar, apparently they pushed GG for a while too. Cahill didn't go to the tribunal, that's why he hasn't been assessed, wasn't allowed to play though. I don't know the full version of events of the Donnelly report, I was on the other side of the ground at the time, a big fracas at 3 qtr time.

dont know what game u were watching burras, but wen we played i dont recall any sort of thing like that happen, maybe a bit of off the ball bumping but its nothing like wat these greenacres blokes were doing, our ruckman got a solid elbow to the head from their backup ruckman in the second qtr and had to go of for a while
