Can anyone tell me what happened to Portland (did they fall over) or did North Haven revert to the footy they played in the first quarter?

And I saw one of the best collisions in footy. Both players should be commended on their effort (3rd quarter, CHF position of Portland). I hope that both players pulled up ok the next day cos by crikey that would've hurt. I thought the collision was legal as both players had their eyes on the ball. In fact I was surprised that there was a free out of it - although admittedly I wasn't sure exactly where the Portland player got hit.

Cheers

Gadj1976, Haven were cleaner and smarter in the last quarter, exactly how they were in the first.

Bucketts, maybe you should get your eyes checked...Coppo was running back and hit front on, no one said 'backing back'. Free kick wasnt paid, the mark was though. I agree, fair contest from both players - the Haven guy almost hurt himself as much as Coppo.

Cheers Felch. I thought it was fair. And sorry, I didn't see the umpire signal a mark, my eyes were set on which bloke wasn't going to get up! Both blokes had eyes on the ball and it was a good clean hit. Both players should be commended by their coaches and supporters. I had Portland spectators in front of me asking for the Nth Haven guy to be reported for charging!!?? Strange.

Haha, some very one-eyed supporters at boths clubs. If anything, Coppo should have been reported for smashing his rock-like head into the Haven bloke !

I went to the north haven vs portland game on the weekend and tried to park on the oval but got kicked off by some lil bastard threatning that we would get a fine.
Who won the B grade and were there many missing players in both A grade sides?
How did the PAOC vs pooraka game go, are paoc back to there form from the start of the year?

Both times that we (Pooraka) have played PAOC they have been very strong. They would have to definately be the team to beat in Div 4 IMO. If Mitcham are on, they move the ball quite well, and when we played North Haven they were missing a few players including Forrest so it's a bit hard to judge if there are any other teams that could match it with PAOC. I think with a full strenghth side we would take it right up to them.
Actually had one of the PAOC players shake my hand after the game and say "see you guys in the GF!" I guess that was supposed to be a compliment towards our team, but none the less a little early Im would have thought!

WTF !!! There were plenty of cars parked on the far-side, there was even a guy who looked like he had set up a campsite, complete with a Weber kettle !!! I thought i was at Oakbank !

We won the Ressies mate, by about 3-4 goals. In all honesty, it was one of our better efforts of the year. I thought we were pretty vulnerable as we had around 8-9 different blokes from the Fitzroy game a fortnight earlier, and i knew Haven's B grade side was a good side - full of young, quick blokes and a tall, experienced forward line. To make things worse i had to take 2 blokes from the C grade as i had one very late withdrawal and a no-show  Basically played with no bench, but the guys managed to get over the line.

Both A grade sides had some good players missing, i know Haven had no Summo or McIntee, not sure who else, but the 2 mentioned are quality. We had Birdy, Depalma and Ali all pull out late, plus no Gein, Martinovic and Odegaard.

PAOC seem to have got back on track, i know they have had some injury concerns, so they may just be getting some quality players back. Premiership favourites, IMO.

You blokes were by far the most powerful team we have played against, you just seemed to blow us away with a 10 minute burst of footy early in the last quarter. Bloody Coles was in awesome touch that day too, everything he touched turned to gold. And Railey carved us up.

I love it that the PAOC bloke said that to you, i think anyone of the top 5, and even 6th,7th and 8th can beat each other on their day. We have beaten PAOC and Mitcham, but couldnt get near Pooraka, or beat Haven. Very open competition, i reckon.

I think there was an inspector there early on but once he left everyone parked there cars back on the oval.

Just to give you an idea Felch I just checked our team on the SAAFL website when we played you guys compared to our team which played PAOC on the weekend and there were 6 Players missing as well as Paradiso. Those six players are all walk up starters too and obviously Paradiso being arguably our best player makes 7 walk up starters that we didn't have on the weekend against the top side!

you are going to struggle to beat any team with 7 of your best players out let alone beat PAOC..............especially with Div 4 being so even as well.
