Tips this week:

Lincoln South 10 points...a bit harder at it than rangers in the wet I think.
Mallee Park 24 points...some of the players still know how to win a game....that will count
Waybacks 15 points...cos wer'e better than them (and Rossco shouldn't believe everything I tell him)

WCP - I reckon he might be fishing on that one. If he's not he might be in for a rude shock

in all seriousness odds for this week...
W $1.33 v T $2.80
MR $1.20 v LS $3.50
MP $1.05 v B $10
The verdict is Tasmans competative but the home ground advantage will see the Dees home by 3-4 goals. Lincoln South to be competative with MR till half time before being over run and going down by 5 -6 goals and Peckers by 10 goals, still have half a dozen qaulity midfielders that will be far to good for their opponents. Wet conditions could tighten the games up even more.
The home ground advantage could be worth a few goals to the Dees, having trained on this venue all your life compared to never seeing the oval before is a big difference. How is the oval looking? Are their coaches boxes there yet?scoreboard? Will the surface handle the recent rains? With the massive windbreaks out there at least the S-Westerly breeze wont be a factor nowdays.....mmm.
Can anyone ever remember a game being played on Ravendale 2?

I know, that's why I took him up!! Probably didn't like me tipping against the Dees, not that I would actually put any loot up against them....

C'mon Grub, you should have many fond memories of Under 10's and 12's at ravendale 2!
Tips: Waybacks 22 points, Rangers 43 points and Mallees 70 points.

afternoon folks, I have been an avid reader of this site and FootySA for a while now, and have enjoyed the banter. Was out at Ravendale on Tuesday night looking at the new complex (very impressed) and gleaned a few interesting facts about the Wayback side for this weekthat rossco and fatty have alluded to, but are too scared to say. For one, Romeo is working and wont play in the A's. Next, Paul Goodwin is still being troubled by a hammy, and no certainty of pulling the boots on after mortlock. Next brother Matt by no means 100%. Add this to prize recruit Darren Gregory not coming down as he will be seeding and every ones favourite Tom G chosing a hangover before club duties this week. Possibly a couple of other late changes as well so another grubs 2.80 is a huge over in my eyes.

GM's quote in todays Times -"Both MR & LS need to win to stay in touch with W & T"
Well beggar me - both MR & T have won 3 and lost 1 and it's still the first round and I don't think Rangers will be actually s...ting themselves next time they come up against Tassies, as good a game as it might be. Some of his comments are extraordinary arnt they.

His tips and write-ups are written one-handed.

Perhaps he's another contender for BTB's Augustus Stanbrook Medal

Thought the same thing Steiger, we are currently 10% ahead of Tasmans who play undefeated Waybacks and we need to win to stay in touch with them. How long does he spend at the Sandbar before heading home to write this stuff :?

Wally Lamont won the inaugural Augustus Stanbrook last year, and at present S Farquarson from Bostons is leading in the race to 'take 'gus home' this year. Not an award the GM would likely figure in..

Augustus Stanbrook died April 15th 1912. He was the bilge pump operator on the SS Titanic.

The award reflects dedication to duty while the world is falling down around you.

Another early contender is Anne Summerton....
