Scenario
2 businessmen
both need phones
both require the best reception coverage

A $$$ plan from a telecommunications provider is required

Do they go for a provider who guarentees the best receptions[Telstra ?]
OR
Do they go for the most ecomical phone plan [becoz all providers have good reception?]

The 2 businessmen will do most calling in the Adelaide metro areas
Occasionally will be in the hill and peninsula areas about 1-3 hours away from town

Special emphasis on quality reception is a pre-requisite
So which plan + company is the best ?

Also the 2 men want to be with the same provider for FREE calls to each other

I think there are websites around that can help with these scenarios.....the problem is always difficult to isolate because the pricing is weighted - more calls, higher plan cost but cheaper calls. Fewer calls, smaller plan cost but big expense per call. I've often thought that your question is best answered by NASA, but have a look on the internet and see if someone has done the leg work for you.

Also - do they have a phone already or want one as part of the package?

Optus have just as good as coverage as Telstra for the best part IMO, if you have some sort of business cap, I think you get phone calls to each other for free..

Check them out maybe. Far better value for money as well. Vodafones coverage is carp, although good value for money.

Im not sure whether 3 runs completely off the telstra network yet..

For personal use I go with iSIM pre-paid, which runs on the Optus network, and is cheap to run - minimum spend $10 every 6 months, and can be set to top itself up automatically against your credit card by the amount you nominate when credit falls below the minimum you nominate. Calls rates are low - only very expensive minimum monthly spend plans offer cheaper call rates from what I have seen.

The question then is whether Optus has the coverage where you need it.

Telstra tend to have the broader cover in my area in Victoria, but are fairly expensive like their broadband plans.
[They should never have been allowed to turn off CDMA until their new plan matched its coverage, which it doesn't.]

Business plans that offer free or cheap calls between linked phones may pay if there are a lot of calls involved.

The other about 60 minutes a week
So would need to use those you beaut $49/$79$99 + plans
They would be answering diverted landline calls

30 minutes per day is not excessive, especially if much of that time is calls received. Can you look at ways to avoid call diversions and the associated costs?

Quite often people will ring a mobile and not the landline when a choice is available
The more affluent or less patient people ring mobiles and cut to the chase to reach the main man, + not a secretary etc.

Yes, they have also added a lot more of their own towers in the metro area, best value for monet caps going.

Jeez! At $149/m on "YES" business it is 20c flag and 19c/30secs, and on Business Cap the $149/m is 20c flag and 35c/30 secs.
You pay for those "included" calls whether you use them or not.
You can see why I use this lot instead...

No flag fall on national calls
