You must be colour blind, pictures don't lie champ (and this was looking both ways so as not to be selective), I can honestly tell you there wasn't one WWT Eagles fan within 50m of us yesterday, there was one West Coast Eagle fan and that was it! I've zoomed in on a larger version and can see 2 kids wearing scarfs and one bloke wearing a jacket, not one of the supposed "few blue, green and gold jumpers" you saw (The other scarf at the back was a West Coast scarf, she sat near us). There was virtually no Eagles supporters in the outer, I was there.
Weirdly enough the crowd noise was equal for both teams from the GrandStand area until the last couple when the Eagles crowd did go nuts and made a noise (and rightfully so).

Having not been to Thebby since 1988 its probably hard to estimate but I thought 3000-3500, as I said disappointing IMHO. Hopefully you were closer to the mark.
Oh well, time to get ready for Auskick, I might have to wear one of my Rugby League tops the way my footy teams went this week! :(

i tend to agree with mickeyj wedgeman. Lot's of blue, green, gold ond grandstand side though I don't see any photo's of that. In summing up 3500 is about right with 60% Eagles 40% North.

eagleshaslanded, here's the 2 pics of the grandstand side (the only reason I showed the outer was to show how ridiculous Aerie's comment was and his comment was in regard to the outer) and counting the red and white as opposed to green, blue and gold and it looks like I was being pretty generous saying the Eagles supporters outnumbered North fans there, looks more like 50/50 on the Grandstand side which compliments the 90/10 on the outer side.
If anything there's more red and white I can count in both of those photos when looking at the larger version of the pics.
You guys are delirous if you think Eagles fans outnumbered North fans, it wasn't even close, the pics don't lie.
And if even if you argue the photos don't show neutral coloured Eagles fans, they also don't show neutral coloured North fans.
Even if it is hard for 2 or 3 of you to look at something objectively you can't argue with the photos.

Just enjoy the win, no need to make up stories about the crowd.

You are very selective with your pictures, Wedgie. Eagles fans easily outnumbered North fans on the grandstand side, where 80 to 90% of the crowd was. Where were all the North supporters? There was hardly any crowd reaction when North kicked one of their rare goals.

Having said that, it was still the biggest minor round crowd between these two teams in at least 10 years.

Red stands out over every other colour. Of course you will notice the red jumper. As a whole, there were no more North fans than Eagles fans and after 3 quarter time there were definitely more Eagles fans than North fans. But if it makes you feel good to say there were more Rooster fans then very well...

mickyj - I thought Shattock was excellent yesterday. He cut off so many North forward movements. His disposal isn't his greatest asset, but he plays similar to how Jamie Tape use to play in that he plays a lot taller than he actually is.

eaglesfan, not selective at all, I took 4 photos in 4 different directions.

Aerie, red does stand out more but I used a larger photo and zoomed in (it was a 5 megapixel shot) and there was clearly more North merchandise on the grand stand side than Eagles merchandise. Considering I could zoom in to see pimples on peoples noses it didn't really matter what colour it is.

It doesn't make me feel good when North outnumber the opposition, it does make me feel good to show people they are wrong when they make ridiculous statements, even your brethren agree with me now.

Going back to your point on the red though, we are lucky at North as its the most standout colour in the league with other clubs being predominately darker colours that don't stand out. Perhaps the Bays fans should wear predominately yellow to try and od the same, they might look like oversized canaries though!
In all seriousness the yellow is effective at Wallabies and Soceroos games though.

If you wear gold then why does your club song say "Yellow and Black"??

Don't blame me, blame your club and tell them to get it right!

I used to be in the bass secion of a band! Does that count?
Change the song then, how about: A tiger for me, a tiger for me.....
And throw in something about how gay you are, and voila, the perfect song for the Bays instead of AFL wannabee crap.

I'd rather have an AFL wannabe song than a Rugby wannabe song,

A Gordon for Me, A Gordon for Me.....

Thats were A Tiger for me comes from....

FWIW Tigerland is the best club song going around.....

Would be interested to hear Eagles fans (and Norths as well for that matter) views on the performances of Matt Cooper yesterday in particular and for the year as a whole.
Believe that this is a signing that has slipped under the radar on the whole despite off season stories of his departure from the Double Blues and recent media attention.
Think that given Cooper's abilities seem to have almost been forgotten, other clubs will concentrate on Powell, Cicolella, Colville, McKenzie and Skipworth (when available) and Cooper on his day will carve up if left unchecked.

ORDB I think that you let a good player slip through your fingers!! He has certainly improved since the start of the year, first game in the reserves second game he broke his jaw , came back against port and to me showed signs ,against his old team he shined and yesterday he did a few good things slipped through a couple of tackles and kicked a great goal .He certainly is a in and under player that we have lacked and looked for in the likes of TOIA ,that and Ron fuller pushing players like inkster etc up into the mid field gives a larger mid field rotation and he is adding speed as well. With him coming from Sturt and Jarrad an outrider both the type of players we lacked in other years .Dont get me wrong we do still need to improve to progress further in 2006.

Cheers Micky.
As Ron Fuller said on Total SANFL a few weeks back, Cooper wanted to stay at Sturt but was told his services were no longer required. As I have mentioned on here before, do you (Sturt) get rid of a player who probably has 3 or 4 good years of football left to appease one who only has one year left? As I'm sure we are nearly all aware by now what that reason was but I've been led to believe by others that are closer to the club than myself that there were other issues other than the main one.
No doubting his class. In his first three years at Sturt, he was quite often the player with the heavy tag despite the other players in our quality on ball division.
Hope he does well at the Eagles and opposition teams - ignore him at your peril!

On a whole I think Coops has been very good, took a little time to get into the mix, then hampered with injury for a couple of games, since making his return has started to hit his straps and the game at thebby on weekend was easily his best for the club. Overall will prove to be one of the best offseason pickups.
