I agree but gripe is with the businesses not so much the customers - my local service station sells coffee, the chain that Ryan Fitzgerald does the ads for - i think if they're going to sell them they should have to have a separate check out where people can buy them. The other 2 things that annoy me about my local BP are 1) the amount of people who make purchases through EFTPOS (was discussed on this site somewhere they get a 10% discount for doing so), and 2) when they close off one of the check outs to count their takings. Thats not customer service as far as i'm concerned.

Nup, completely disagree, the business are in it for making money and I don't blame them for that, its the morons who aren't in it for making money that inconvenience normal human beings who are a part of society that completely s***t me, they should all be shot, similarly to the people that use credit cards in the carry basket lanes of supermarkets.

I shook my head when I first read your initial post on this Wedgie, but today I got stuck in a queue at a service station where one of the counter droids was filling out paperwork for a trailer hire, and the other flunky was busy pumping pooncey lattes. Meanwhile the queue of people wishing to complete simple transactions queued to 8 deep and the cars idle outside made it impossible to manoeuvre until all drivers had returned to their cars.

So now I'm unequivocally and wholeheartedly on your side. Anyone buying coffee at an effing servo should be forcibly shoved into a coffee grinder.

I don't see why city petrol stations sell coffee. It makes more sense in the country, where they may be the only source of a snack and refreshment for miles. Outside town is the only place I buy anything but petrol at a petrol station.

Putting something straight on a credit card doesn't slow down the check out queue at all - it's the mucking about trying to use EFTPOS and getting cash out, remembering which account you want to draw on, changing your mind, and then trying to remember and enter your PIN that is the problem. At supermarkets I just give them my Diners Card. No option but credit, and nothing to press but enter/OK. Its quicker than paying cash and getting change.

The real problem people are those who transfer their purchases to a trolley, then get out their cheque book and fuddle about writing a cheque.

The first time was worse a guy was abusing me funny I couldn't do anything about it .and I got the car started on the third attempt anyway
And before anyone says car maintance .It was serviced last Monday and the guy advised my wife not to drive the car on petrol .So now in the cold weather I am having to warm up the Falcon for about 3 minutes before I take off.and I am waiting to take it to my mechanic who is away on holidays.Just to find out if I do in fact need to spend $3500 on a new fuel system

I should explain that there is normally one Sunday Channel 7 game up here that is shunted to midnight -normally Fox Sports do replay the same game at around 6:30 pm, but for the Showdown it's 11:30 pm tonight.
Today Fox Sports had Carlton vs Sydney and there was slightly delayed coverage on 7.
It's the same thing posters here have been complaining about ever since the new tv deal came in (same game on FTA and Pay).

Normally I wouldn't be so irate, but being the Showdown...

It's not illegal at all then, because if the lane ends you LEGALLY have to let in the person in front, so if you want to try and be a smartarse and not slow down, you would be at fault.

Perfect example of this is on Fitzroy Tce near the aquatics centre, left lane ends and you merge into 2 lanes. I use the left lane every morning and every morning I don't try and CUT anyone off.. the lane ends and if Im in front of someone I indicate and move into that lane.

Can I suggest you read your frickin road rules before you cause an accident?

I sorta know what you mean, like when you've been lined up in front of Clipsal in the left hand lane for ages waiting to get into the slip lane to turn left onto Port Road and some smartass drives straight through in the middle lane, stops traffic just before the train crossing and flicks his indicator on and wants to get in front of you...THATS annoying and THATS when I dont let people in. why? Because Im not legally obliged to

I'd never noticed it until I lived in Melbourne and discovered that if you had even your nose in front, and indicated you wanted to change lanes, people dropped back and let you.... It was quite astonishing.

Now when I visit Adelaide I have to remember not to indicate too soon or the b...... behind you accelerates to block you even if your nose is in front.
Adelaide drivers are more aggressive/competitive.

i found that out myself on a visit to melbourne not that long ago, adelaide drivers could learn a lot from a visit to melbourne
