Best centre half forward? All due respect to Cowans but you would have to agree that Gill might have a fair claim to that mantle.

I would definately vote for Nick Gill over Cowan.

I guess it depends on who you support. For me Cowan is a proven performer in a GF. Gill still has to prove that he can perform at the business end of the season.

Each to their own. Just because Cowan has played in premierships doesn't make him a better player though.

On the surface Gill has the greater talent. However doggies4eva makes a valid couple of points. I would aslo add that Cowan has played state football and is a more accurate kick on goal.

Wayne Carey wasn't labelled abetter Centre half forward than Kernahan after a season and a third of football.

Anyway who really gives a roosters ball bag. The original point was that Centrals have a very strong side and toi keep everyone happy I will rephrase and say the dogs have as good full forward and centre half forward as any.

Port and the Roosters to finish 1-2.

Anyone of five other clubs i.e. Glenelg, Eagles, Norwood, South and the Bulldogs can occupy the other 3 positions in the 5.

Sturt won't make the 5, however, as in other years from other teams will influence who actually makes the 5.

Our next 3 games against Glenelg, Central and Norwood are crucial to our opposition.

BEWARE A Wounded Double Blue Team.

I ws just asking as I saw the doggies game but not the Norf one. He may have played well for all I know. I'm not saying Gill isn't a good player I just think that you have to play consistently all season and then step up for the finals to be regarded as a great player.

It was Gill's 1st game back after a neck injury- he hasn't been right/played since the Glenelg game (4-5 weeks ago).

Sadly Dash if the performance the Legs put in on Saturday was anything to go by, you would remove us from that list of possibles .. Was a spoon-worthy effort reminiscent of 2004 .. I guess this weeks game against the Bays should make things clearer

You could also add that Mckenzie or Frewen shut him down ,can not be sure who started on him as Frewen was on the bench at the start of the game and Mckenzie was moved onto the ball in the last quarter.

I reckon South have the cattle to be 5th but I think Norwood will snare it just ahead of the bays who have very similar quality cattle to Norwood if not slightly better.

Thoughts?

Just thought id blow my own trumpet as to the accuracy of the title of this post.

Eagles not being a premiership threat appears incorrect and I take back my thoughts that Norwood will finish 5th. I reckon South will. All yesterdays loss does is keep bays fans hopes up and set em up for agony.
