Will be interesting. Believe Waybacks copped about 12 - 13 injuries to their key players on Saturday which will probably rule all bar Rory Hunt out. Looks like tassies to carry the flag...again!!

Rossco and Fatty will keep score by using empty cans (they have consumed) stacked up in the window of the complex.
I had the roosters score covered ..not sure how TRR went tho.

So Biggles I take it from your post that Christian, Tom, Michael etc did not play 17's at all on Saturday. With that many out you did a sterling job even fielding a side.

thanks steiger and AG - did an injury in the second quarter playing in the middle, then went and did the riccuito special and slutted in the foward line, felt like a WCP special! we should've won by 10 goals we kicked 21 legitimate points for the day, we play tumby at home after mortlock and i know the club is looking very forward to it.

welcome pacer - will be great to finally here another side to the GFFL stuff

Ruley only got 7, 43 from 6 games now!!

Thought Rangers first half was disgraceful, paid zero respect to the opposition and I thought an upset was on the cards. Brett Watherston into the ruck at half time was a master stroke, best game for us so far and turned the tide with great taps and marking around the ground. Votes from HQ

3 - J O'Brien (consistent at full back in the first half then dominated on the ball in the second, having a really good year!!)
2 - Damon Scott (stamping himself as one of the best running defenders in the league, will take a good player to lower his colours)
3 - H Parker (class above at the stoppages, great hands in close to release the runners)

Grub Sportsbet POTY - Round 5 Waybacks Vs Tasmans

Postby bluestheboy » Mon Jun 05, 2006 11:00 am

3 - Matt Goodwin....constant all day. Found the ball more often than anyone else, and used very well...expect when near goals.
2 - Cole Blesing....one of our young guys who has pace to burn. Starting to believe he is an A grade player.
3 - Rory Sheehy....9 (8 by the paper) goals and was a shining light in a structureless forward line in the first half. Another young guy who is emerging from the shadow of his more illustrious cousin. (Dallan)

Great day at the new complex, and traffic congestion was no where near what many predicted...only complaint was the positioning of the 2nd hockey oval on Ravendale East. Because of the cricket pitch, it was marked too close to the footy ground, with a number of wayward shots just missing footy spectators and players. Needs to be moved or a temporary barrier erected asap.

Bizarre watching a game without a scoreboard but that will be fixed.

Also love the rub down benches...all that missing is a side ladder and safety net. Used the same specifications as the New York lakers

Saw the PL results in the paper, and then saw here that Tasmans were missing a couple of big names.
But weren't W as well? is there 10 goals between W and T this year?

JQ - Tasmans had a lot out....and their kids battled well all day........but I think 28 scoring shots to 11 tells the tail.....

The difference between the two side - with everyone in - IMHO would by 4-5 goals in favour of the Dees

Anyone who kicks 9 goals is BOG for mine, especially if they aren't a bulky full forward like a Ruley etc. Minya & Blesing both must have had 40+ possesions to eclipse a 9 goal effort. Were you a back pocket Bluesy????

Waybacks with a couple out (george & schuppan) but a few injuries through the day. Romeo battled on with a crook knee and Gregs took an hanger in the goal sq in teh 2nd and would have taken another cracker if he wasn't wonderfully spoiled by D Moore!
After saturday Tasmans will battle Souths for 3rd & 4th. An early call but Waybacks made tem look better than they were in the first half, they don't have the depth to match it with W or MR and if MP get their players back after Mortlock (as the rumours go) they will be battling for 4th! Can't say I'm upset to think about T not making the finals!!!!
Then again it's pretty early to be making statements like that - any more Schuppan-esque injuries could be a problem for W!

spoken like as true full forward wcp...the kid played very well and 9 goals is a tremendous effort. ..

mate your talking to an old FF. My last season of footy, I actually held down FF in the magoos and led the club goal kicking with 30 odd. (probably 35.85 and 25 oof going on my usual conversation rate.)

Both teams were missing qaulity players. Rory should have got BOG his roving and contesting in the forward line was superb. Tasmans battled manfully with the players they had out.
The DR rumour file just gets better, has anyone heard the latest?
Whats the reaction been like with his return to the club? different reports have come through some are fine with it and some can't look him in the eye.

Well we need to stick together then mate!! A full forwards work is not appreciated enough, these scabby midfielders running behind ruckman for kicks and in gaps through the midfield is too easy. Bang a few home Covey.....

What were the votes from your game biggles........ looks like Covey could be a leading chance for another MM.
Now after having seen round 1... can I have a round 1 report card on each team btb! with a grade and comments.
Who will cause the first upset in the PLFL? Could the comp end up with teams on 15 wins, 12 wins, 9 wins, 6 wins , 3 wins and Bostons? (as currently happening) Obviosly over the next round with the inclimate weather we may see different results.

So Shuppan's out for how long?
if DR did a knee, that's got early last season written all over it!!
Great stuff by Sheehy. Was nowhere near the mark last year when it came to tough body contests, so to stand up (along with Blesing) is great stuff. Whoi copped the bath at FB for T then?

Shuppas goes to Sportsmed this Thursday. Romeo's knee should be fine after a week off.

Hang on a minute, I was one of those "scabby" midfielders and my memory is certainly of hard ball gets followed by impeccable delivery to pampered forwards who more often than not wasted their chances by kicking too many points or OOF. As I said that is my memory but have to admit I'm having trouble remembering even if I played - my wife tells me the stories and I believe her
