And if this is the case North can only sway money in there face because it doesnt matter what power you have as a club or how much money you have. Its who is on the lease that really counts for more

I was under the impression NAFC wanted Greenies as a kind of thirds to keep the people who can't make the ressies together. This could be rubbish though.

It would be a rough move by the council to kick Greenacres out. I'm not sure why people are discussing NAFC as having the power to get rid of them.

turk186 wrote:FC.. absolutly right the new development has been on the table for 12months.. just a couple of corrections to what you posted.. the new plan is for 4 new SANFL standard changerooms ( 2 for the top oval..2 for the bottom) storerooms, first aid room. umpire change rooms, club area and deck over looking bottom oval, light upgrade etc.

That is I believe the first stage..the next bit includes 2 indoor netball courts, gym, office space an so on.

Capt C.. change the ponies champ.."wells fargo" have more of a clue than the stuff u are trotting out.. There are no issues with surrounding residents, I do not believe that the new proposal has ever been 'knocked back" by council in any way shape or form. in fact quite the opposite.. and Norths are on record as saying they wish to develop both ovals and surrounds and become an "area of football excellence"..go figure..main road..good exposure..2 ovals..parking.. shall I go on, or will all the would be's if they could be's just continue to bag greenies, norths, pokies, cash, hard work, loyal hard workingclub members and the fact that the entire area just happened to be in the rightplace at the right time....Location,Location,Location......

...well thats a load off!!!

Just for the record, yes NAFC do want to develope the entire place, but not for the Greenacres footy club. Sit tight and see what happens at the end of the current arrangement.

any one seen these plans??

Capt.C... dont think parking is an issue, Grand North recently applied to council for an extension to existing carpark near the venue (about 30 parks I think)..and when you say a move to the bottom oval do you mean just greenies or the whole box and dice..I dont see parking a huge issue down there as the parking between oval holds more cars than the top carpark and an extension

Shrek...I think your close to the mark with your last post..not sure about a kind of 'thirds' just yet but there is talk NAFC may consider shifting their junior program out there when the new facility is built (they do a bit of preseason out there now).

Zed..I think if your boys play with their heads and dont get sucked in you will get over the line

There was a topic on this forum leading up to the season stating that the NAFC was going to base junior players in the Greenacres under 18 side to keep a better eye on them when they were on the fringe of getting a game at North, judging by the way the team has performed this year, it didn't happen.
