Slightly different quote from the Pakistan Cricket Board

It is a huge thing for us," Shafqat Naghmi, the board's chief operating officer, told Cricinfo. "The decision has proved that Pakistan is safe to play cricket in

Must be a powerful decision

Continuing on with the Pakistani slant on the controversy, PCB chairman Nasim Ashraf has stated that he is not worried about the prospect of international starts skipping the Champions Trophy over security fears.

If some players do not come it would not make any difference," Ashraf told AFP. "It would be their loss to miss a mega event."

Looks like we aren't going boys and fair enough too. New Zealand also look set to boycott and perhaps England might as well. No wonder Pakistan are happy. They might actually win something.

Another win to the ACC.

New Zealand's squad has not softened its view on attending the Champions Trophy despite a detailed security briefing by an ICC task force in Christchurch on Thursday. Safety remains a prime concern and Heath Mills, the executive manager of the New Zealand Cricket Players' Association, will not be recommending the team attends the tournament.

"In all honesty, nothing I heard yesterday has allayed our concerns," Mills said. Twenty-two of New Zealand's contracted players attended the lengthy and animated meeting along with team management and New Zealand Cricket officials. Worried players threw many questions at the out-numbered ICC representatives, who had arrived from a security assessment in Pakistan in an effort to convince the side to travel, but at this stage the official plea is unlikely to work.

An ICC task force visited Melbourne on Friday to brief Ponting and Sutherland on the safety measures in place for the Pakistan event, which is scheduled to begin on September 12. Ponting said while the security efforts of the Pakistan board and the ICC looked positive on paper, the players remained anxious over the implementation of the procedures, a complaint they share with the New Zealand squad, which was briefed on Thursday

Quite simple, you cannot have adequate security measures put in place anywhere if some idiot is going to be a walking bomb

Yep exactly right. South Africa have done the right thing and good on them for having the balls to be the first to pull out.
