As much as I liked him as a footballer, the one person who has a laxative affect on me is none other than Stephen Rowe. I realise he seems to have a lot of fans out there, but I can't stand him. The moment I switch on for a footy commentary and learn that Rowe is one of the callers, I switch off immediately.

That continued high pitched whining is more annoying than 1,000 sets of fingernails scraping across a blackboard, and his stupid sayings are akin to an 8 year old mental patient.

In Rowe, the 5AA management realise they have a tremendously annoying person, and therefore he will be the one to replace KG. 5AA like that sort of thing.

Welcome to Selection Criteria # 1 for talk back radio, Grant Cameron and Peter Goers on 5 AN anyone...

It's karma although about 17 years too late.
What goes around ,comes around.
He knifed Ian Aitken in the back and now KG has been knifed himself.

Sojourner wrote:I suggested this earlier, yet after thinking about it a little more Kym Dillon seems the only suitable replacement for KG on 5AA.

The case can be better made for Dillon having knowlege on the highest number of sports because of his role as the sports presenter on Ch9.

What it probably comes down to is if 5AA can offer him enough coin to get him away from Ch9 & MMM.

5AA have won the ratings in recent times and would have to be cashed up as a result, so there is no reason that they could not do it if they wanted to.

Anyway another name to throw into the mix!

Reminds me of a song we used to sing in the Cheersquad up the back of the Grandstand @ Thebby, in the '80s...

We got Kimmy Dillon,
In our team,
We got Kimmy Dillon... 17
We got the best team in the World"

Oh, those were the days

A fresh face from outsde of football would be good.

Dittmar - at least he should have an appreciation of other sports around the world

Lehmann - no idea what he would be like but I think his viewswould make for good listening.

Ellis - netball - she would be an interesting option

Please not Rowe, McDermott or Francou.

I dont mind Wildy but he has said he is not interested.

I know what you mean...as an SA-based Richmond supporter, I often wish I could hear more about Richmond, but the only time I do, is when the Crows or Power are coming up against them the approaching weekend...

It's an SA based radio station not a national radio station so it's bound to concentrate on the Crows and Power. You could try looking for Melbourne based stations that give stream similar shows favouring your clubs.

I'm hoping that whoever gets the gig can boost the profile of the SANFL a bit more...I can but dream

Regards
JAS

That's the problem Jas, it's about Crows and Power, not football itself. Until it changes around to incorporate the SANFL and other AFL teams, I'm not interested in listening.

BTW, it wont, cos there is no money in it.

The fact that Walls, Buckley and Hunt are interviewed in a weekly segment is great. It's a major part of why I tune into the program each night...

Buckley realises he's talking to an SA audience, so he cr@ps on about how much he rates the Crows, even when they've lost five straight...whereas at least Walls and Hunt give a bit more of a rounded view about the competition at large, not just the SA sides.

Having said that, I think Buckley is one person that I listen to regardless of what he has to say, except for perhaps his biased viewpoints about Collingwood not needing to change or adopt a more unclashy clash jumper with all 15 other clubs.

As for SANFL content, so long as the station continue to do the "Where are they now?" and Sunday Night SANFL show with Zac Milbank and Daniel Norton, with the occasional interview mid-week, I think that's as good as we'll get.
