Robbie Keane has gone to those binscabbing scouzers for 19m quid plus an additional 1.3m:

This is one of the shittest things I've seen at all of the clubs I follow accross the codes.

There is NO loyalty in football. Gone are the days when you can genuinely love a player at your club. Love the club and that's it.

Midtable mediocrity.............................it seems that's all we'll ever know at Spurs.

As a spurs supporter I am gutted by losing our captain who has kissed the badge and who only a few months ago stated he was happy to finish his career at Tottenham but we need to have some faith in Ramos and move on.
The side we had last season was only good enough to come eleventh so lets see who we can pick up.

tiger...great to see another Yid on the boards. Hope you stick around for a shoulder to cry on this season!!! :D

Nah, you're right, in Ramos we trust. With Modric, Dos Santos, Gomes and Bostock in the wings, hopefully we see a real charge at 4th. I'm sure JR has a couple of tricks up his sleeve to bring in another 2 or 3 quality players before 31 August.

I'm always around but not posting much. However follow Tottenham with passion. Have a lot confidence in Ramos to put something special together this season.
What ever happens our supporters at the Lane will always do us proud.

Spot on mate. Watch this space throughout the year as I'll post some more pics from the Lane when I get up there. I'm hoping to get to 4, maybe 5 games this year, especially the Liverpool game. Also hoping to get to Arsenal's plastic stadium to see the North London Derby in Oct.

I know premiership tables don't lie, but surely Spurs had the personnel last season to finish much higher than that? I know bad starts are notoriously difficult to rectify, but I really thought Spurs would give the 4th spot a serious challenge last season.

the top 4 will be the same again this year like it always is, just a matter of where they finish within the 4

You would think so, but I wouldn't rule Spurs or maybe even someone like Manchester Taiwan United out ... Would expect Liverpool or Arsenal to have a pretty major slip-up though for that to happen (the 2 above them will remain there).

I think a side to really watch for this year is Portsmouth. IMO, they're the next best side after the top four and Spurs. Villa are ho-hum, Blackburn will be rubbish and Citeh's last 12-13 games showed their true colours. The only other side to take seriously are Everton who keep proving themselves as top 4 potential challengers.

It's just consitency for each of these teams. A bad start and you're F-ed. A poor Christmas patch and you're F-ed, in fact a string of 3-4 losses against anyone/draws against the lower sides and you're F-ed.

Winning at home against everyone and away against the bottom 12 is the key.

See how easy it is? 8)

Yeah, but a similar thing happened last year and look where Wenger got them. Expect more of the same, unfortunately for us in N17.

But here's hoping your pesimism becomes reality :D

Henry was a bit different as that was a good deal for the Arse given the coin involved. Cesc is a required player and the only way any other side will get him is if they put up PLENTY of coin and offer him silly wages, to encourage him to put in a transfer request.

The Prem League website has got smart this season ans doesn't allow copy and paste from ther stories. I'm sure it could still be done, but I'm a bit :-k :-k when it comes to that. Anyhoo, transfers to date:

http://www.premierleague.com/page/Headlines/0,,12306~1316307,00.html

The ones to watch out for IMO:

Arse - El Nasri
Chavski - Boswinga and Deco - It's a shame to see these great players wearing those shitty colours.
Fulham - Schwartzer
Liverpool - Dossena, Ngog and Keano
Portsmouth - Crouch - Harry will give him game time and he will dominate with Defoe beside him. I can see these 2 being one of if not the highest scoring partnership in the league this year.
Stoke - Sorensen - I thought he was OK at Villa for a while.
Sunderland - Chimbonda, Diouf, Malbranque - The performance of the first 2 (or dummy spits) will IMO define whether Sunderland are pushing the top half of the table or scrapping to stay out of relegation territory.
Spurs - Modric, Dos Santos, Bently and Bostock. Dos Santos looks AMAZING.
WBA - I'm interested in how the whole team goes. They were great for patches in the Championship last year.
Spammers - need to buy some players but can't. They are up the creek IMO.
Wigan - Kapo

Obviously a month still to go and I think almost every team except Man USA (provided Ronnie stays) and Chavski need to strengthen in 1 or more departments.

Anyone interested in doing a League table tipping comp like JTC's great effort last year?
