How are you soaking in the Aussies - Brazil game?

Postby scott » Thu Jun 15, 2006 2:38 am

It's a 1:30am start I believe (next Monday or Tuesday).

What's everyone's intentions?

- Sleep? Catch to replay next morning...
- Staying up and watching it at home?
- Finding the closest pub?
- Take it in at the city?

Think they'll get done, it'll be the margin thats of most interest I'd suspect ... Despite the fact I think we have no hope, Soccer's a funny game, a team can have a keeper on song, luck with the posts and then pop their only shot in ... Rare I know, but thats the beauty of the sport at times

Yep, you never know. The Dutch game was like that... we should have lost by a few goals but Schwarzer was on fire.
Lets hope the same thing happens here. If Aussies fluke a draw and Japan beat Croatia we are basically through.

A draw would be the 2nd greatest result in Oz soccer history. Ururguy victory 1st. Im tipping a 1-1 draw. Bresciano or Cahill scoring for us. Swarzter will need to have a blinder

If our game ends in a draw and so does Japan v Croatia, that'd leave us needing another draw to progress.

If both games end in a draw we would still hold at least a 2 goal advantage in Goal Difference and could even afford to lose our final match by a goal ..

That's right CP.

I guess that the best results Australia could hope for (that are realistic!!) would be for Japan to beat Croatia 1-0, and then us to draw with Brazil.

Agreed Blink ... That way Brazil also remain non-certainties to get through and wouldn't rest any of their stars for their final group match
