I thought he had copped a reprimand at some point.

Sheedy will poll well but i fear as last year there will be another good spread of Blues players to poll well ( from memory I think 3 of them tied for second or third and another was 1 or 2 votes from them )

Im going to put money on Allen from North ( :vom: side joke ) - no one looks like they would be rippin votes off him and I rekon he may poll in some losing games - especially the game @ Unley this year as he was seriously tryin his hardest and rackin up the numbers even with a tagger on him after the second half !!!
It is what it is !!!

I think Jade's a better bet because North don't appear to have won enough games....yet :o :o

Sheedy would currently have about 9 votes, Jimmy Allan would have about 11, I think Ty Allen and Fisher would both have about 13 but there's still a long way to go, it could be a low scoring winner with possibly multiple winners again too.

I'd like to think James Allan (spelt with an A not E!) will poll well but not winning as many games as North might have hoped (and getting thrashed in quite a few losses this year) will hurt his chances. Also Alleway will (or should) take a few votes from him as he has had an outstanding season. Rhys Archard also gets plently of the ball even when it appears he is not in the game at times and he might grab a few too.

My pick will be someone from the Bays or Sturt simply on sheer weight of games won where the 3 votes normally come from someone in the winning team. But as others have pointed out, both teams have had a very even team efforts this year so they might have players robbing each other of votes over the season.

Jade Sheedy has stretched his lead a top of the Race to the Magarey leaderboard, which has just been uploaded at http://southern-times-messenger.whereil ... rey-medal/
Can anyone tell me the last time a player captained his side to a premiership and won the Magarey in the same season?

Who knows how the umpires have voted so far this season?

What we all deem to be good performances may not necessarily be what they deem to be good performances.

I think James Gallagher has been a standout at Norwood all season, and given their plight with a few victories this year, he could poll well, as could Jeremy Clayton at Port...

Overall, I think both the Bays and Sturt lads will steal votes off eachother, but they may still have enough votes to come out in front, given the number of wins both sides have had so far, and may have by season's end.
Is 2009 the year of the Tiger?

This week's edition of Race to the Magarey has now been uploaded at http://southern-times-messenger.whereil ... rey-medal/
Read about how hours of kicking a ball to himself at Noarlunga Oval is paying off for South onballer James Boyd.
Also this week:
- Brant Chambers set to pass big Grenville Dietrich on the SANFL goal-kicking records
- North's Clint Alleway and Central's Chad O'Sullivan crack the top 20
Keep posting your feedback, it's much appreciated.

Hooray, my smokey has made it inside the top 20...

I reckon Sully is a big chance if he keeps up the good form. Like I've said before, he hasn't been a huge standout in games, just Mr Consistent and if he can get the 2 or 3 "3 voters" he will have a chance at plenty of 2's and 1's and might be up the top of the leaderboard come the night's end.

Jeremy Clayton has been outstanding in alot of games & he'll be the next ineligable player not to take home the fairest & most brilliant player award while being infront on the leaders board. Be interesting to see how the umpires cast there votes in alot of Port games as Jeremy has always had alot to say to those in white & that had cost him a couple of years ago for back to back medals.

There's just four rounds of the season to go and the Race to the Magarey is starting to look like a two horse race. The latest installment is at http://southern-times-messenger.whereil ... rey-medal/
