I thought West Torrens were Royal Blue, not Navy Blue... :?

I'd like to know if the heritage guernsey concept extends to shorts & socks.
Will the Eagles be wearing black shorts & the socks they wore at the time?
When the Western Bulldogs wore a throwback guernsey to celebrate their
1954 premiership two years ago, they still wore the new socks and not
the ones they wore in 1954. It looked totally inappropriate.
Secondly, will they wear the Woodville guernsey with the stripes on the back
or the plain gold back?
Hooped or plain green socks?
Black or white shorts?
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

They wore white shorts and had the old fashioned socks too, I must admit their guernseys looked a lot better out on the ground than they did in the paper as the sponsors weren't obvious from the front (but were shocking from the back where they suck out like dogs balls). I'll have pics of the day up in about 15 mins.

the white shorts were to recognise the merger with the umpires they have had, unfortunately that merger has only led them to 1 flag

I must admit I though the umpires were pretty good today but if anything they did favour the Eagles a tad, maybe a couple of goals worth.

You sound as bad as all the Eagles supporters winging about the ump's at the game :x
They weren't that bad today, but the bitchin' was non stop.
The guernsey looked pretty good, but would have looked heaps better without the sponsership logos.
I had to have a chuckle at all the Eagles supporters bagging Grocke in the 1st 1/4, we're quite happy with O'Hara thanks :D

Did that merger occur before or AFTER todays game MT79?

THE UMPS CAN ONLY DO SO MUCH, I MEAN THEY GET THEM THERE ON THE LAST DAY, SURELY IT WOULDNT BE TOO HArd TO EXPECT THE PLAYERS TO PUT IN AN EFFORT ONE DAY OF THE YEAR

MT 79 let the weak supporters bitch and moan about umpires......

Bottom line we weren't good enough to win....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I saw 3 quarters (missed the 2nd) and in those quarters i thought the Bays did play well enough to win, but just couldn't quite fall over the line. You dominated the 1st, and the 2nd 1/2 was pretty even, certainly no disgrace.

I had to have a chuckle at the Eagles supporters in front of the stands late in the 1st quarter.
Eag supporter # 1 : **** off Mickan you're a soft c**k
Eag supporter # 2 : not as soft as the useless prick we've got, I wish we could have Mickan.

Snouts: "Ball!!!!"
Eagles fan: "I can see you're holding YOUR balls"

And in the outer:

Tigers fan: "Ball!"
Eagles fans: "Ball ball ball ball!" - they kept doing it over and over, pretty funny stuff.

Ian I know we weren't disgraced, but I believe as my club improves my expectations must improve too. Twice this year we have let sides come over the top of us. If we want to get back to were we as Glenelg supporters know I club belongs i.e playing finals footy every year and winning flags we can't allow that to happen. I don't want to get sucked into thinking like a supporter of a 2nd rate club where "we had a go" menatility is sufficient.

I do ask of those that were there with a 28 - 11 free kick count to the Eagles were we so bad in being 2nd to the ball? As an umpire the basic rule is protect the player who makes the ball his objective, i.e. the team that is going for the ball more than the opposition should get the most free kicks. Was this the situation today at Thebby??

I didn't think the umpiring was that bad and your assessment about protecting the player going for the ball was spot on, a couple of shockers and perhaps a 2 goal advantage to the Eagles from the men in white but generally OK IMHO.

well in one instance there was a holding the ball in the 3rd quarter to the Eagles in front of goals, very next centre square bounce glenelg player brilliant tackle on an eagles player and it was play on. same thing two interpretations, no consistency.........
