Salis Nth came to play at Henley yesty knocking Henley senseless at the stoppages, Warner was great & Cutting cut them up.
The Hawks pressure ( tackling ) was a highlight & their ability to win the contested footy saw them set up a match winning lead at Qtr time 8.2 to 0.2, they went on with it in wet & windy conditions to earn a crack at Goodwood next Sat. Henley missed the presence of Cullen at CHF but clearly that wasn't the sole reason for them losing they were outcoached by Jamie Thomas & his assistants that continually rotated the midfield by using the interchange to perfection, the thought of tagging Turner was a good one as he's the key along with Peterson to the engine room of the Sharks, tagging Turner with Warner was an interesting ploy As Warner is a ball magnet & doesn't need leading to the ball, it certainly worked though as Turner was given a hiding, the accountability of the Henley midfielders was shocking, nowhere to be seen infact.
Given a dry day next week i give Salis Nth a huge chance of going straight through to the GF, they have pace & height & very good ball sense & skills to give this years flag a real shake. Are Henley a big chance of going out in straight sets, maybe the constant talk around the club that the flags in the bag has put to much weight & expectations on their star studded side! They have the side but maybe forgot that finals footy is a different game to minor round footy, can they respond?
Gepps Cross this week would of learnt from the first encounter at Henley a fortnight ago & will be looking forward to this game with confidence, it should be a cracker of a game.
