Having played both sides i think the brighton - happy valley double would be best value for money. You would think Brightons varied avenue to goal would be enough to worry Reynella defence.

Congratulations to the SFL thread on reaching 400 pages of magical, meaningful, and insightful dialogue! Clearly the most popular metro football thread and hey, 263289 viewers (as at 10:12pm 1-9-08) cant be wrong!!

Lets all give thanks to the father of the SFL "Ruck Legend" who started it all on that fateful day on Jan 2 2006.... and then it seems he joined Morphie Park

MatteeG as the longest serving member of the SFL thread perhaps you would like to say a few words??

The avenue to goal hasn't worried the winefly defence on the two occasions we played them so far this year so yes i can see why you made that informed statement.

I reckon next year the SFL just about deserves its own sub forum with multiple threads.

Interesting stat for you boys... 5 of the last 6 years a team finishing in the top 4 has exited the finals in straight sets... Can't argue with the stats... Looking at this weekends draw Valley v Porties and Reynella v Brighton it looks like bye bye Brighton...

We've already got them haven't we ? ---- Aldinga, Southern Hawks, Hackham Hawks, Mail Medal Prospects, Reynella etc.
Meanwhile how about we let "The Southern Hawks" thread die away and let the "Hackham Hawks" take over. It's important to them we cut them a break and call them by their current preferred name.

Yeah but they're all grouped in amongst amateur threads, I was thinking of giving the SFL its own board so there'd be 3 instead of 2 (currently Regional and Country, proposed: SFL, Amateurs and Country).
With more space it could be spread out more and easier to read with perhaps even indidividual threads for upcoming finals.
Maybe even a Southern sports forum incorporating the SFL and the Southern Cricket Association.
Just thoughts.
Worse comes to worse if we trialed it and it didn't work we could revert it back.

From a personal point of view I have no interest in the Amateurs but still like to keep in touch with what's happening in the SFL having been a 50 game hack rukman in C Grade for the Shoes!

I feel that "Ruck Legend" should be consulted before any changes are implemented to the SFL thread structure!

Na sounds good.

I also offer my services as a "mod" to keep these clowns (especially The Mexican) in line - tho i refuse to read anything about cricket.

Hey Mex, you have really gone off brighton, who would you boys rather face in the prelim? I think brighton will go in as favourites, reynella still with alot to proove this year. cracker of a game it promises to be. According to DTH good Vs Evil (what a crock of sh**T)

Is it Valleys who have gone out in straight sets 5 out of the 6 times?

400 pages. Great work passionate SFL followers. I'm a bit hurt at the moment with Vics01 going for the jugular. Can't quite remember my comments about Junior footy and how it relates to anything that happened on Saturday. As far as targeting injured players, I have no idea what your talking about. Other than Ponytail-gate, the match was incident free and played in pretty good spirits I thought.

Flyer, you guys seem to have all players up and running going by your list on the weekend of which you haven't had for sometime and you have beaten Brighton both times this year, as much as we love to hang it on you guys, at your best you are still very much a contender and i honestly think you will have Brighton's measure this weekend, last few years they have come from the elimination finals etc and been on a high going into the knock out semi, now the situation is reversed and after a great finish to the minor round (which now means nothing) will be under pressure to perform against a team that they clearly struggle against... As for us having a preference, personally, we will be playing a prelim final to get into a GF and have no control over the weekends results, we will be playing the better team of the 2 who will be a very good side...

All the talk seems to be about Reynella having the wood on BDOS. What about the other game Can Porties cause a major upset and knock off The Valley? I didn't see but have been told that Mannion looked in good form on the weekend grabbing everything that came his way.

Also does anyone know all the other match ups through the grades SFL don't appear to have updated web site fixtures yet.
