last few years Porties seem to always pull something out of the bag at this stage of finals. Cant see it happening this year but still think Valleys will be in for a tough day.

Hey Mex, you have really gone off brighton, who would you boys rather face in the prelim? I think brighton will go in as favourites, reynella still with alot to proove this year. cracker of a game it promises to be. According to DTH good Vs Evil (what a crock of sh**T)

Is it Valleys who have gone out in straight sets 5 out of the 6 times?

Flyer, you guys seem to have all players up and running going by your list on the weekend of which you haven't had for sometime and you have beaten Brighton both times this year, as much as we love to hang it on you guys, at your best you are still very much a contender and i honestly think you will have Brighton's measure this weekend, last few years they have come from the elimination finals etc and been on a high going into the knock out semi, now the situation is reversed and after a great finish to the minor round (which now means nothing) will be under pressure to perform against a team that they clearly struggle against... As for us having a preference, personally, we will be playing a prelim final to get into a GF and have no control over the weekends results, we will be playing the better team of the 2 who will be a very good side...

Have to disagree with you mex. Seen a lot of Reynella this year and their best is not as good as previous years.
I think there are a few players in the side that are playing hoping for a result rather than knowing they can win. They may push brighton this week, but they are nowhere near the calibre of cove or m vale.

Great work Wedgie!
Much easier to navigate to SFL. and I like the way the guys have already used sub topics.
Great Improvement.

LOL- I started posting SFL whilst still playing- how things have changed!

Marvellous work all, its great having an SFL forum to now discuss everything...and a good mix of posters from most clubs. I think we'd all be surprised about who is who on the forum!

And Mex- I came equal first in the minor round tipping thanks very much....unfortunately my Falcons let me down v Twisties in the last round... :( Great effort by junior emu, he came storming home!!

Morphett Vale too good in 2 GF's, beaten by a better side on the day in last years Preliminary - Being 'around the mark' hasn't been enough to win a flag in the last 5 years, you have to be great, and Reynella haven't been.

Both Valley and Cove last year. In 2006 it was Port. In 2005 it was Noarlunga.
2004 saw both Qually losers end up in the Grand Final ---- Morphett and Brighton

With some of the names in the Port line up you'd have to think that they are a big chance on any given day. Tedmanson when up foward is un-stoppable.

What is it with the Valleys holding onto each other when they go on and off the field before the game and at half time....? i presume it is to promote consolidarity but in the end i think it just looks plain weird.

I think it is a pathetic way of attempting to show all at the game that they are as 1... I much rather seeing one of our boys dish out a well timed shepherd, protecting his team mate when he needs it the most... That holding onto each other's guernsey means nothing when your head is over the footy...

Agree Mex. When we easliy beat then in Round 18 they did this. To be honest most of their blokes looked embarrassed. Their second half that day was very average with several blokes doing undisciplined things, so this "show of unity" thing was all a bit fake. I suppose coaches are looking for something to inspire the group but what the Vikings are doing is a bit pathetic.

Ponytail-Gate tonight boys. Once I hear what happened I'll fill you in tomorrow sometime.

Not alot has been said about Morphy Parks.

But at the start of the year i recall sayin that Morphy Parks will win just as many games as they will loose. Although there finals campaign has already ended, i still think that have a great season and definatly turned some heads. It is a credit to the players to come from winnin two games last year to winning nine this year.

There is alot of young blokes in there side and i think in the future they are going to finish alot higher then what they did this year. Once they start gettin regular numbers for the b grade and then start to build Juniors, the club is going to be a force in the future.

It might be because not alot of people care.......

From all encounters from what I 've seen the arrogance at an improving club is not appreciated nor does them any favours. But in that yes good work to make it and it would be nice to see another up and coming side start to shake the finals. Just not Morphy Parks

Nothing from Zelezny Chucks today.... I can picture him now staring at his computer, furrowing his brow in concentration, searching thru the numerous SAAFL threads in a vain attempt to find these SFL pages...

Porties vs Valleys - correct me if im wrong, but i dont think Porties have really challenged any of the top 5 sides this year? But Valley, despite finishing 2nd, are coming off the back of 9 goal drubbings from both the 3rd and 4th placed sides, so they are ripe for the taking. I still lean towards the Vikings tho.

Reynella vs Brighton - cracker game on paper, and looking forward to sneaking in to Bice oval to see it on Saturday. I actually disagree with the Mex on this one and reckon Brighton might get up here (pending the fall out from "ponytail-gate") only going on what ive seen when playing against them this year. Im hoping for a close and hard hitting match...

DTH - I did think some of your posts were very good and that you were a smart person, however making light of "Ponytail-gate" as you call it shows that you are sadly lacking, maybe having the same brain fade as the player involved regardless of personalities, the striking of an official not actually playing the game is a serious indescretion and I hope the SFL treat it more serious than you are. I am sure that your coach is impressed about the possibility of losing a player in such a manner. I know several other club officials I have spoken to have said they would have suspended the player themselves. You have a very well run club but this is a blight on your club. I can only hope you only a supporter and not performing any official role at BDOS, if you are it is indeed a sad day for footy.
