We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

How's this one...we were advised by SAAFL to bring the top 3 votegetters to the Div 1/2 medal count. One of the guys in the top 3 list advised by SAAFL was suspended during the year. Not much chance he is going to win it.

Is a certian umpire still umpiring Adelaide Uni games?
It might explain how Wes LeGrand receives so many votes.
Don't get me wrong he is a very good player but also seemed to get the votes when playing at home even if he wasn't the best platyer on the field.
Just something I have noticed after having played against Uni for the last 10-15 years in that grade??????????????? [-X

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

What happens if the two umpires can't agree on votes? Does the home umpires view prevail?

Makes a mockery of the medal system and totally devalues it, not knocking his ability as can play, but certainly others in comp are as good or better and until saafl want to take ownership of club umpire pool, install a fair system where a whole divisions umpires then umpire either the div above or below this type of blatant favouritism will continue to happen.

Season 2009 simple solution nominate 1 B Grade player to your club umpire who gets the 3 vote every game and if all other 9 clubs do the same will have a 10 club tie for the medal and really highlight the need for change and impartiality.

Pag, How come your A's struggled yet were still able to produce a B grade medallist? You would think the club would give someone who's "consistent" and obviously fit if he's "rucking almost 100% of the time" ago in the 1's!

B Grade have been a good side for a few years now mate, problem with the club seems to be we have a lot of good B grade footballers but not many who can step up and be consistent A graders. Some young blokes in there who will be good A Graders in 2-3 years but not enough at the moment to be competitive on a consistent basis in A3.

Is it no surprise that Wesley Legrand won again...if only he could win in a grade that doesn't use club umpires week to week, wouldn't get so many votes me thinks...

see him in the advertiser today!!!
with his six medals around his neck
Pfft

Would be nice if he made the comment that club umpires picked his name everyweek
what this does is taints everyone else who has won a medal as you wonder if any others have had their medals given to them such as him

Wes Legrand is clearly the best player in DIV 7 reserves and was clearly the best in DIV 6 reserves last yr. Yes the club umpires may vote for him as would other club umpires vote for their own players i would imagine. If the guy was an average footballer then yes you could question the validity of his medals but he is a cut above anybody else in the B/D grade. Should be playing higher but as stated before plays with his mates. And I have no affiliation with Uni whatsoever!

But the 2 games i saw he was nowhere near the best 3 players on the day
not a hope
but yet he got a couple bog

as i said takes the gloss of it as you look and wonder what other games he got votes and shouldnt
