Thought it put this here instead of on the AFL board.

The SA kids that got picked up:

13 - SHANNON HURN (CD) - West Coast
15 - TRAVIS VARCOE (CD) - Geelong
17 - DARREN PFEFFIER (N) - Adelaide
24 - CLEVE HUGHES (N) - Richmond
30 - NICK LOWER (N) - Port Adelaide
32 - BERNIE VINCE (WWT) - Adelaide
47 - RYAN GAMBLE (G) - Geelong
48 - ALAN OBST (CD) - Adelaide
56 - JOEL PATFULL (N) - Brisbane
58 - HUGH MINSON (N) - Port Adelaide
61 - MATTHEW STOKES (WWT) - Geelong
63 - PHILLIP RAYMOND (G) - St Kilda
69 - TIM HUTCHINSON (P) - Kangaroos
70 - JONATHON GILES (CD) - Port Adelaide

Any Centrals fans got any information at all on Jonathon Giles??

Some fairly highly rated kids didnt get picked up.

Tom Rischbeith who broke two records at the Draft Camp, Jace Bode, Luke McEntee, Josh Sampson, Sam Elliot

I'm stoked that North didn't lose any players in the draft despite winning the U17s, U19s and ressies.
I expected Luke McEntee to go, amazed he didn't get picked.
I shouldn't get too excited though, still another draft to go.

Phil Raymond is an intertesting one it shows how much improvement he has nade in the last 3 years. I think the first thing St Kilda will do is show him the way to the weights room he's pretty light for his height.

Can any Dogs fans give me the good oil on Varcoe? And what about Stokes? Plenty of buzz on Catsclaw about these two draftees. The Cats were suprised that Varcoe was still available at 15.

REB, Varcoe is from Smithfield and would have played a handful of league games last season had it not been for his foot injury. There was a problem with healing hence he had most of the year off. He's quick yet very light. He'll be a long term prospect for the Cats once he puts a bit of beef on (and if his dad keeps his nose out of things). I would imagine he would be a Burgoyne type of player. The word is his younger brother is an even more exceptional prospect.

"Any Centrals fans got any information at all on Jonathon Giles??"

Jon Giles will be 18 in January 06, has only been playing footy since he was 15, has only played 1 year at Central U/17 (this year) and won the best & Fairest. Very tall (199cm) very light, but very talented as a ruckman, easily the best in the U/17's comp. last year.

Will need to bulk up to play League or Reserves at the dogs, IMHO would strugle at U/19's against bigger players in the centre bounces.

based on past history if Central don't play him in the league, Port Powder will get him shifted to the mudpies because they'll say he's not getting a fair go.
