Wouldn't it be nice if they both made it, and Port missed out?

While Im on the subject of 5RPH - do they actually have a Budget or a team list with them? The amount of times they got the names of the players wrong would have to be at least over 30. It got quite amusing towards the end. You wouldn't want to be listening to the call and trying yto take stats!!!

Terrible performance from the Pies, just terrible. As with most sides you would like your best team out on the park, but this is very rarely possible. The sign of a strong club is being able to absorb the loss of key players and still maintain some form and consistency as North has done in the early parts of this season. With the loss of Eichner, the continued and frequent absence of J.Clayton and Waterhouse, the departure of Bullenn (our best wishes go with him) it looks as though the talent pool at Alberton is fairly shallow. With the playing stocks at his disposal there is a real challenge ahead for the new man at the helm down there, over to you Tim....

Now that we have overcome the euphoria of yesterdays win is it time that the sanfl and the safc got their heads together and programmed a few more matches at Noarlunga next year on Sundays?
The Southern Football League is a very strong and well patronised league and principally plays on Saturdays. With the added encouragement of cars around the oval Sunday matches would be an ideal way to spend a day at Noarlunga. I have been a strong opponent of this idea but if it gets more people through the gate- lets go with it!
The crowd figure yesterday was 3,800, I was wondering what the figure was last year vs Port to compare and see if this iniative was as successful as it has been portrayed?
South now have 3 weeks of critical matches, starting this week against the blues. We would probably start favourites but I see it as a danger game especially after yesterdays result. We then jouney to Prospect where we will really will find out"where we are at". I'm not sure but I don't think North have beaten us at Prospect since 1999!
We then venture down to the litter tray at the bay to retrieve the Darley/Carey cup which has temporarily been housed at Brighton Rd. The next 3 weeks will define our season and also the coaching tenure of R.Pyman.

From memory there was about 2000 for the same game in Rd 1 on a warm day (I was there taking pics) so you'd have to say its a huge success comparing those 2 figures.
South should play every game on Sunday down there, been saying that for years, as the SFL is embedded in the hearts of locals down there.

The D-C cup will stay at Brighton Road at least until South plays at Glenelg next year. It is only played for once each year, usually at the home ground of the current holder. That's my understanding, I could be wrong...

I don't know about the Darley/Carey Cup, but the Williams/Gallagher cup that is awarded for Port and Norwood matches is decided on the better performed club over each season. So if one club has a record of 2-1 over the other, or a higher goal difference in the event of even wins, that club holds the cup. I could be wrong, but I don't think finals are taken into account.
