NORWOOD seconds v SCOTT WELSH

All discussions to do with the SANFL

I liked how the Eagles best players Welsh was a bit down the list when at times they were a one man team. I suspect Welsh wouldn't have been at the aftermatch presentations to collect his best on field prize.

As CP said over a 10 year period it would all even out.

I liked it in the 3rd quarter when Welsh won the centre bounce ruck tap to himself, dodged a few opponents, then kicked it high in the air towards full forward and while the ball was still in the air, ran all the way to the top of the goal square and pulled in a hanger and then kicked the goal. Also enjoyed his pack mark at full back and his nice use of the football out of defence, kicking it to himself all the way down the field until getting in range and kicking the goal. No doubt at times the Eagles were a one man team.

The Eagles reserves aren't bottom anymore, it's Sturts turn to have these players.

But it is ironic that the Crows and Power want these players to play so badly that this situation happens, but come finals time most of the players are injured?

forget who plays for who we all know the rules & if you guys are so worried about the 2's why are they having shortened last quarters ? why wouldn't they just start the match earlier to let the game run its natural course it doesn't matter in the overall picture of things except possible % what annoys me is the shortened last quarter of the gf (reserves) last year or did it go too long ?!!!! yes the younger players would be in awe of him but would also learn something as well, there will always be anomolies & we just have to accept that what they do is in the best interest of all concerned
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Too logical for the SANFL to work out.

Good point Spelly.

Really, we're talking about 2 or 3 instances a year, when there are 3360 reserves places to be filled during the minor round each year. Plus we are talking about a player, who if fit, would be one of the premier players in the AFL.

For the sake of harmony between the AFL and SANFL clubs it has to be this way - otherwis they'll jack up and start that Crows/Power reserves team argument again. If you think that's a good idea, look how East Perth dominated the comp for a few years when they had access to all WCE players.

Yes, it might have ramifications for a team, but over the course of the season, there's always other games that they could've/should've won.

Yeah, it comes across as a bit mysterious that injury bit, but it sure does happen.

As for a Crows/Power reserves team, not that you wanted it, a big fat NO.

FLYING HIGH

Your views are excellent and logical.
If its fair to play these guys then sobeit.

Quite remarkably some of these guys come
september are made unvailable for SANFL
finals by AC +PP.
Further degrading of the SANFL in my book.
