BLOODY CORNES!

Postby CENTURION » Mon Jun 26, 2006 6:51 pm

I was talking to Cornesy quietly & rationally & they started to yell over the top of me & basically blamed us & before I (on "talk-back" radio), could put my point to them, was dumped! I have invented a new word. Cornes is a CENTRALOPHOBE & is obviously CENTRALOPHOBIC! The main problem in general is not Central supporters but the opposition supporters! They ABSOLUTELY HATE us singing & chanting at their ovals. Numerous times on Saturday, as we were standing facing the game, opposition supporters would walk behind us & give us a mouthful of abuse. No wonder we get pissed off sometimes! BUT we don't sook about it, we accept it & get on with it.

In that case, we'll never have to show him respect!

Cornes also said that we are feral supporters & that Kris Grant should ban us from singing & cheering at opposition grounds & if we don't, then we are to be banned from attending opposition ovals. Will the opposition refrain from the same? I wonder how long they could put up with the massive drop in gate revenue when no-one goes to their grounds? They created the monster that is currently biting them on their oh-so precious arses by inventing the "way out at Elizabeth Pommies, them versus us mentality". Well, they don't like it now that we are successful. You know what it is? It's called ENVY & JEALOUSY! Believe me, Cornz, you have not heard the last of this!

Christ I haven't heard a Pommie so p!ssed off since Beckham got sent off against the Argies in '98 and when he got short changed on 'is cod n chips twice......

Our best crowds are when we have decent opposition supporters, North, Norwood and dare I say it Port.......

Some Central supporters have trouble making the connection between the Gawler Central train and the tram or Bus #263. Plus memories of 1975 tend to stop them travelling too...

I'll just say one thing...

All teams have some idiot supporters, and if they want to have a go at the opposition, the obvious targets for them are those who are being the most vocal.

So as "chanters", you have to realise that you are likely to receive some unwarranted abuse from these idiots, and hence you should be prepared to deal with them in an appropriate, sensible way. i.e. to ignore them or laugh them off. If you retaliate and get into fights yourselves, you are just bringing yourselves down to their idiotic level.

I think this situation is unfortunate though as people who sing and chant bring some much needed colour to the SANFL.

Save it for English soccer, this is Aussie Rules, played in Australia.

Cornesey painting all Dogs fans with the same brush is wrong and he admitted as much. His argument was that the only way anything is going to be done about feral Centrals fans, of which there are a disproportionate amount, is to damn the lot of them and let god sort them out. And he's got a point. There is a nasty, vicious element which I don't see at other games, bruisers who have such a short fuse, they literally patrol the ground looking for a fight. I saw it at the Bay on Sunday - walking from the ground a clearly angry skinhead was being consoled by his missus to 'let it go' & don't get into a fight. He seemed to think about it, stroked his cro-magnon chin and said "**** it, I'm going in". He then bolted back into the ground with clear intent.

Now if it means the only way me and my family can go to the footy in safety and actually enjoy the game is to restrict Centrals supporters to their own 'hood then boo hoo, see you later. Fix up your backyard before you stuff up mine.
"A no vote from any club means there is some sort of risk involved in our entry into the competition not working," Steven Trigg.

And while I'm on a roll....the reason why Australian Football supporters can't "cheer", "chant" or "sing" is beacuse for 158 years we have been to busy watching goals being scored and action that we haven't got time to stop and think of chants and songs that you hear at the soccer.....where you have lots of time watching the grass growing so to stop yourselves falling asleep you have to think up Nauseating Chants and Songs.....

Maybe perhaps maybe that is why "our noble supporting saviours chants and songs" didn't take off at Footy Park this year, too many supporters busy watching the action..

Rant over, KG play another ad please......

A lot of the trouble at Central's matches stem from their success, when Port and Norwood were the benchmarks of the competition, I experienced consistent and regular antagonistic behaviour from their supporters, because they could, after all they were so much better than the rabble from the North, now the tables have turned, I am the first to admit that when Centrals are winning, their supporters taunt and when their side is losing, it is so alien to them, they also tend to provoke opposition supporters that are ready to "play".....I am not advocating an answer, but I am offering an alternative cause other than "those ferals from the North", ....As for Glenelg, well, they have never had enough consistent performance/success to get that way, so it's too hard to judge them at this stage, but I'm confident that the "Snout Lads" wouldn't hold their ever "sharp tounges" if they ever experience more than the "odd Premiership", every 20 years or so.

.....and I saw it at Adelaide on Friday night, and I didn't see any Doggies supporters there. Every club has at least a few, but I've seen another clubs supporters cause more trouble in the last couple of years than Centrals supporters.
