Sensational games of footy at Maccelsfield yesterday in breezy conditions. Well done to the Brooker Boys.

Kersbrook's B grade in it's first GF since 97, brought home the choccys against Kangarilla who had been undefeated during the Minor Round Season. Brookers got off to a good start against the wind and had control of most of the match. With Kersbrook a goal up at the start of the last quater and kicking with a strong breeze it was always going to be tough for Kangarilla. Congratulations to Dicky Kleeman in his first season at Coaching, who led from the front, and to Norm Smith Medalist Alex 'Jock' Parasiers who will be a future Captain at Kersbrook. Best 3 IMO were Parasiers, Jason Rider and Kleeman.

The A grade was a classic encounter. Kersbrook were off to a good start with the Wind and went to the long break with small lead over Torrens Valley. The Match went full circle in the 3rd quater with TV winning the quater against the Breeze, and seemingly with all the momentum to achieve Back to Back Flags. Brett and Paul James had other ideas, and with a huge last quater, mixed in with some class goals by Pollock, R.James and Hart ended Kersbrooks 11 year Premiership Drought. Luke Slattery did a Abeltt/Buckley winning the Norm Smith in a losing side. Best 5 IMO were B.James, P.James, S.Carslake, K.Paues, R.James.

As somebody who played a few years of senior colts at TV (for 2 wins ) it's very pleasing to see both the JC and SC team playing on Saturday. Well done to all involved. It wasnt long ago that colts at the club were almost non existant.

I was there in those years too Saintal and what a great turnaround for the Club. For all of the success that Hughes' $$ has brought to the A Grade, the Club is doing sensational work with the kids. Kersbrook are deservedly favourite in the A's but you never know what magic Carter can conjure up on the big stage....

Poor form by your blokes club and that is Torrens 'CHEQUE BOOK' Valley. They were that sour over the umpiring on Saturday they wouldn't even submit Best Players and Goal Kickers to the HFL for the Sunday Mail. As for their Poor Coaching, to every Kersbrook's Supporters delight and Neutral Observer's bemusement, why would you leave Carter at Full Back in the last quater??? It was a No-Brainer when the game was up for grabs and TV were kicking with a strong Breeze. If Carter was thrown on the Ball in the last and managed to get hold of some of those 70 metre Kicks he can produce, perhaps the result wouldn't have gone against them. As for the great man GH, word has it he'd got a couple of stretch Hummers for his boys, for Sundays GF Celebrations  You blokes might as well send those around to Kersbrook this arvo

Congratulations to Kersbrook in both grades.
Sounds like both games were rippers.
Kersbrook's A Grade were the dominant team throughout the season and deserved premiers.

2008 premiers, a bit touchy on Kersbrook are you?

Good to see Kersbroook take it out this year, best team all year in Country Division

So much for Kersy's president saying that if they dont win the premiership this year, it is because they dont have an oval etc etc, they didn't have an oval and still one, so we cant hear any excuses coming from Brookers about their oval now, after all, last year they had an oval and lost, this year they didn't have an oval and one.

Torrens Valley have two ovals and still lost.

Is that a true story about Torrens Valley not listing best players and goal kickers because they weren't happy with the umpiring?? I noticed there was only one best player listed in the Mail. If so, what a bunch of sore losers! Did they take their football and go home crying? Perhaps they should come up to Div 1 and take a few poundings to bring them back to the real world of football! They also need to remember its the HFL not the TVFL!!

Very good game from what I could see of it and in the last five to ten minutes it really could have gone either way. Certainly feel that Sitters would have made a difference of some sort.
A couple of unfortunate incidents at the end of the game but everyone was pretty well behaved in general.
Apparently there must be a shortage of witches hats and bunting up TV way.

hey monte... i think you might find that the top 3 or 4 teams in the country division would be quite competitive in the central division.. In my opinion Kersbrook would be top 3 in central and TV would be in the top 5 they are very handy teams and i have seen both divisions this season and they are not far off the pace :D

That's not true. The general concensus is that the likes of TV, Kersbrook and Kangy would match the lower placed sides - Bridgy, Birdwood, Loby this year etc as proved by Birdwood winning the odd game. But take a look at the sides finishing 4th and 5th Uri and Hahndorf - sorry, but TV and Kersbrook wouldn't beat those 2 sides.

He makes a very good point i coudnt see either of those teams beating Uri and Handorf i went and watched the country div granny, and those two teams woudnt beat anyone in the top five. They may Give other teams a run for their money but i doubt they would finish top five

Does anyone know when HFL team nominations for 2009 need to be in? Has Cally nominated? All very quiet in the Bremer Valley re this info. And amongst all this conjecture is the comment that Monarto CC might be sharing their oval with the oval so to speak. All a bit too much if you ask me.

Am still chuffed about Brookers; good luck to them!!!

you central div guys think the uns shines out your a:shock:ss... your div is much better overall but i think Kersbrook would give Uri's and Hahndorf a good run for there money.. I doubt that any of your bottom 3 teams would even make the top 5 in country division.. Nairne played Lobethal in a trial match at the start of the season and Nairne had 5 top tier A graders out and nairne won by 15 goals and we only just made the 5..???

Well we aren't going to be able to prove it either way unless they have a trial against each other next season... so its just my opinion after watching both divs this season i think Kersbrook and TV around that level.
