Best team all year, and had a real hard hit out by Porties last game. Many teams who waltz through Prelims often come up short in the big one (although I doubt very much the all conquering Emus will fall for that).

Good luck both teams, and GO YOU FLAGGY UNDER 14s!!!

I can see what your saying about waltzing into a GF with an easy prelim, but I dont think this applies to the emus. although they did win easily. anyone who was there would atest that it was through the emus great attack on the footy and skills that they won the way they did. they were still playing against quality opposition (even beter than the opposition cove had??) which is different to "waltzing in".

If the emus dont get ahead of themselves and play the same football for 4 quarters as they did in the prelim, I wonder if there is anything cove could do to get up? the start of the sentence is the big question tho......IF!!!!!!!!

Thoughts?

Can the Morphett Boys win it if it gets close or they get behind?
That's the million dollar question.
All year top teams have to play S..t teams and win by 20+
You at least hope heading to the finals games you draw some above average teams to steel your metal. But if you win by big margins IN your finals campaign are you gona be poorly prepared for the big dance with a real team against you.
On that theory I say Cove by 4 goals.

Reason for Morphies 2 big wins in finals quite simply because they were quicker, smarter and harder at the footy. There was nothing there opponents could do to stop it. As Lova said if Morphies can bring the same level of want tomorrow then they should run out winners by about 5 goal. of course IF is the key word.

Be nice if conditions remain this way for saturday but it dosent look likely.

From the research I have done (bom.gov.au) it doesnt look that bad

Forecast for Saturday
A morning shower or two, clearing to a fine, partly cloudy afternoon. Fresh
northwesterly winds shifting west to southwesterly during the morning then
gradually easing.

Precis Morning shower or two.
City: Min 10 Max 19

Will be a little windy down at "sterile panther oval" (wonder if they will officially change the name of the oval next year?) but doesnt sound like a bad day to me.... bring it on!!!!!
Beat the whites of eggs with a pinch of salt until stiff...Continue beating, gradually adding sugar, vinegar and vanilla, until of thick consistency.

Season long form places Cove three goals up
M/Vales finals experiences equates to an extra five goals

Emu's by two.
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

Well done Cove too good all year and well deserved winners. I like many others expected the Emus to run out winners yesterday but Cove simply wanted it more.

The thing that surprised me was the size of the Cove crowd, it was absolutely MASSIVE

Well done Cove on a great result and deserving to a club that has worked its but out over the past 5 years to be a major player in the SFL and am sure the club will be for a long time.
Sorry lads I did not attend the GF I ventured to Mt Compass to watch the GSFL final and it was great to see all the things we loved about our GF in the past. Cars parked around the oval (well half the oval) with their club colours and flags/The smell of all the BBQ everywhere/The suttle but visual presence of security in the form of police(not one bit of trouble) and the most pleasing part was the winning side of each grade having their moment to lap the oval with the flag(a great tradition lost in our comp with the move to sterile park) And the most disturbing part was the amount of SFL people attending the GSFL final.
So well done to Baz on 5 in a row and well done to the GSFL for keeping alive some of the small things that we love in grass roots footy.

Well done Cove! :D They deserved this one. Didn't end up making it down for the GF - stayed in bed all day - so I'll have to find someone who did so I can hear about the game.

Anyone know what happened in the other grades?
