THANKS SMAC

I rang Port council said had no opinion
I rang up the 1300 number for this mob and had to go thru numbers prompts
remarkably when i try to get to talk to someone it continues on with press numbers prompts
i spend almost 5 minutes going round in circles
REMARKABLY when i press the prompt to pay the fine i get thru
they ask me to dial in the fine number [which i ignore]
now im pissed off
i ring up this mobs office in adelaide on a norMAL number
i explain my situation
1 second after i finish
she says
" send a photocopy of the fine, we will let you off

WHAT THE ...??????????????????????????????????????????????
too easy

what a rort for the people who pay the fine

sure is a rort. they don't have a legal leg to stand on if they let this reach the courts. But they will do their best to scare the bejesus out of the average joe to get some $$$$$$

Quite a remarkable sequence of events
SMAC suggested I dont pay the fine
I followed up today

SUNDAY
1 hour parking paid for at a market [why oh why is there parking metres there]
I came out 14 minutes late
Recieved a parking notice for $88
CARE PARK PTY LTD issued the notice

MONDAY
I phoned the Port Adelaide Council
They said it was nothing to do with the council and to ring CPPL for closure
I rang the 1300 number
I wanted to complain
There was an answering service with numbered prompts
I pressed the prompts for assistance and got no where for several minutes
I was going round in circles
However when I pressed 1 for payment of the bill I got through
The prompt asked for the number on the notice ....[I hanged up]
I rang the Adelaide office of CPPL
I explained the situation to a feMALe operator
About one second after I finished my spiel she says
" Please photocopy the notice and the $2 parking slip and we will waver the notice."
" Are you sure?"
" Yes you were only 14 minutes late so we will accept that."

Now how about that
Im happy to get off
But whaddabout the people who actually pay the fines.

Hmnnnnnnnnnnnn....
