radio coverage

Postby Sploosh » Sat Jul 01, 2006 1:04 pm

Specifically: Is the North V Glenelg game on radio today? I know it's on TV, but that's no use for people not in South Australia.

Generally: Is there anywhere that a list of "media coverage" for each round is posted, so I don't have to bother people with the same question each week?

The SANFL website should have a listing. There will be only score updates from the North v Glenelg match on radio, and will be on TV.

Thanks for that. Couldn't find anything at the SANFL site, though. You'd reckon there would be a "media guide" somewhere...

Apparently there were some "technical difficulties" at Elizabeth so C31's Chris Kendall, who happened to be at Prospect, started to call the North/Glenelg game via mobile phone while the RPH people moved themselves and their gear from Elizabeth to Prospect. When they got to Prospect, there were also "technical difficulties" so Chris continued his call of the game. One of the RPH commentators was heard to say that he refused to call a game via phone which meant that Chris did the entire coverage on his own via mobile phone. Chris did a fantastic job on a moment's notice. Calling 120 minutes of footy would not be easy. RPH listeners should be thankful that for at least one game they didn't have to put up with DB and his inane cliches (e.g "sausage roll", "hi diddle diddle" etc). Well done Chris!

Sploosh and others, full details are in the post I make weekly on SA Footy (usually on a Monday or Tuesday) entitled Rd ** Injury Update & Rd ** Broadcast Details

There's a lovely search function on this site too.

Have to agree that the caller did a brilliant job calling by himself on a mobile phone. He really needs to be praised for that great effort.

Wedgie, I assumed that I'd have overlooked something, somewhere. :)

What an absolute wanker. The guy should have been sacked on the spot. If 5RPH have any guts, and I assume they dont, he will never cover a game again. His commentry is shit, 5RPH does a poor job anyway, but he is the worst.

Excellent work Chris, what a great job he's doing for the SANFL.

Would my assumption of who the RPH commentator be correct (ie not Phil, Darryl or DB?)
