Yeah 2nd that - a Flaggies boy through and through, he gave the area a good rap in his speech!! even mentioning the bush pigs!! Good to see the local club getting recognition for their past players!

You Beauty! Go Coons! Brilliant effort.

Well Done Ads!! Absolutely sensational effort!! Great reference to our great club and a nice little reference to the Bushpigs!!

His goal in the under 16s GF in 2000 is still talked about around the club, and Im sure some of the old Sullies boys would remember it too.

It's funny how opposition clubs try and give us sh!t by calling us the 'Bushpigs,' but I think you'll find everyone at the club loves it! If only we could go back! Then at least we could get our old club song back, which those copycats from Happy Valley stole.....

Its would be fair to say one of Cooney's finest moments came on the Vic dancefloor after his rookie season in the A.F.L. None other than Trevor Rigney takes a flying hanger up Cooneys back screaming " i take marks "

Haha but on a serious note well done Flaggys and Adam Cooney for creating Southern Football League history!!

I couldn't see why anyone would vote against another club joining the comp. I think it can only strengthen our comp and the fact that a club wants (if they do want) to leave the amateur competition for the southern league must be an indication that the southern league has something to offer for clubs not already in the southern league.

Perhaps clubs that think Edwardstown will challenge them too much or something like that may vote against them joining. I think it is a step in the right direction if there is to be two divisions again. Even if it is only Edwardstown that do join this year, if they are successful or there is a perception that Edwardstown are benefitting from the move, then that will filter down to other clubs in different comps who may be in the position to join the sfl or are thinking of a move.

Deal on Francis was done about a week or so ago.Dont know if or who hes bringing to the club but one would think it can only be good for them.Good juniors down there and their senior playing list isnt that bad Mclarens could be on the up.

My mate that played at Salisbury West seems to think he may bring a couple of the players wifes and girlfriends with him!!!

Has built up quite a reputation in a short period of time.

Could be dangerous for the club if this continues

Word from Hills Country, is that Torrens 'Cheque Book' Valley are looking to poach players from Reynella again, after the successful recruiting of Smitheran and Sitters. Seems Southern League players aren't as worth as many points in the Hills Comp, compared to ex A1 Amateurs and ex SANFL players.

Cooney winning the Brownlow...guess we can question the voting system in the AFL aswell. Was by no way the best and fairest of the AFL this year! Well done to him for including grass roots footy in his speach though. I spent the last couple of days with an AFL player that has been unlucky not to win a Brownlow, we didn't even watch the count monday night, but when we heard, he wasn't to happy that it was given to Cooney. I guess it could start a good discussion, the best players not win a Brownlow (Carey, West) and the Brownlow winners that probably weren't all that deserving (Woewodin, Cooney). Don't get me wrong, Adam is a good footballer and i suspect he will win atleast another Brownlow especially if he can win one in an average year, just don't think he was the most deserving in season 2008.

Come off it Damien he is nowhere near the worst brownlow medallist ever heard of guys like Tony Liberatore, Scott Wynd, Jim Stynes etc etc. While he might not of been the absolute best player in 09 he was certainly up there amongst the best. I think he was a deserving winner and the betting showed it. He was second favourite for most of the year and slipped down to fourth/fifth favourite it wasnt as if he started 100/1.
