It just ties in with one of the Grog Squad's sayings:

"Innovators, not imitators"

You'll probably have Glenelg, Central or Norwood supporters doing the same in 10 years.

And how's this for a ripper:

The Bays kicked 9.9.63- exactly the same score when we pumped them in the 1987 GF!!! (we kicked 23.7.145 that day)

Jeez, Cornz would have had a field day if we had worn something like that last week. Feral, bank-robbing Muslims would probably have been his tirade.

I cant beleive that North won so easy.

It must be a different **** now at the Bay as the preious one would have not let us win like tha todat.

Yeah agree with that. I was pretty nervous before the game because we played Glenelg and the weather made things worse. I was very surprised at the lack of fight put up by the Bays. I was expecting a tough scrap with only a couple of goals being the final margin. It was pretty easy and i was bloody impressed by every North player.

spell_check wrote:Ecky, what was the total number of hitouts for both teams?

Well...interesting question

It all depends on your definitions and whose stats you use...

The newspaper had North as having 28 hitouts and Glenelg 39. Anyone who saw the game (unless your name is Wedgie) would be very surprised by this relatively even number - Clarke clearly dominated the ruck, and Glenelg had him down as having 65 total hitouts!

What I think you will find (I have very good evidence for this  ) is that the guy who did the North hitouts for the paper included ALL hitouts, whereas the guy who did the Glenelg hitouts only recorded "effective" hitouts.

This makes any comparison in the hitouts between the teams basically useless.
