Rams presidento did speak with the echunga coach but the $ were never mentioned.

Rams are keen to get the right coach...with the very talented kids coming thru the next coach would reap the rewards of some very good work done by Micky Dunks and the other coaches in the past 3 years.

Any truth that the two Lukes - Murphy and Percy - won't be at the club next year?

PRDB..

Everyone in aus except you knows that Murph is going overseas next year..as for percy..it all depends where his job takes him.

Trying to stir the pot PRDB??

I believe the rams have already stitched up a couple fo pretty handy players..

Also good to here that U17 captain Calin Smith is on the mend after his horrific injury in the Gf...hopefully he'll be back fit for next yr..

Not at all.

Know there are two other country div clubs that thought he was going around next year so obviously I wasn't the only one.

I know Nairne will still have a very strong side next year regardless of those departures.

cougar regarding reynella captain, im presumming that your talking about presscot, I have heard this rumor that he maybe jumping shit but not to cheaque book valley, to kangarilla to play with his brother. heard that he wasnt happy with reynella how they treated him and the finl series are back. Truth is thought kangarilla might be struggling to keep some of there key players ie; guitnik, wakefield, jackson and maybe a few others. just what ive heard!

Can't confirm or deny IC, but heard that the TV offer (as always  ) is attractive. With the successful recruiting of Sitters and Smitheran, it would be easy to believe they'd raid the Southern League again (and they're not as worth as many points).

If the 2 Lukes are gone from Nairne Land, they are big losses, and would need quality recruits to offset those losses.

ODB, so 'Johnno is the Man'. Will be interesting to hear ex Birdwood and Angaston people's opinions. Does Shayne Mitchell have a gig yet in Adelaide? Heard he's applied for a few positions.

ODB... so Johnno to Maccy hey!? wow. is he bringing any players with him? let me guess, Mick "I've played for almost every club in Adelaide" Danielle? and his buddy Bugg? not exactly gonna win you a premiership with just those two... so i guess your just relying on his neil craig esq. coaching abilities!

personally, i never had a problem with the guy.. but it would of been wise for Maccy to have chatted with some of the Birdwood officials to maybe get some references... just a thought.

Is there going to be changes to HFL points system in 2009.

If not, we might as well go back to open slather/ biggest cheque wins...

and then wait till the building industry goes a... up..

before we get back to an even playing field.

Big Fella it will take the points system a couple of years to sort itself out but it is good for the league...

They should run the points system like other leagues.

So it can cometimes remain a even level playing feild.

1st, 2nd & 3rd gets the minimum amount of points say 30
4th & 5th get 32 points to play with
6th & 7th then get 35 points to play with
8th & 9th (if you have that many teams) get 38 points.

Agree with Tex TBF, It does take a couple of years to settle - currently the points @ 35 is too high for sure - it needs to be @ 30. I do not know whether staggering the points to ladder position is correct as come end of the year there could be teams doing their best to lose which is not good for anyone either. Just makes recruiting to be smarter. GH's has done nothing wrong just the points are too high. Money doesn't matter anymore. Drop it to 30 and your top teams will probably have to let one or two go. We'll see. Don't bite me head off - just my opinion! Play on. Remember atleast there is a system that will be able to be punished if broken - sure as hell salary cap wasn't

I reckon S.J. will be good value for Maccy. Knockers can say what they will, but the guy has a passion for the game which shows through. I can only speak well of him but understand he's probably not everyone's pint o piss. Maybe he's the bomb under 'em which Maccy's needed for years?

what would Birdwood know they underachieved for 10 years before Johnno arrived on 2003 and have done squat since he has gone and maybe you should speak to the real people at Birdwood ie. Falls, Muster, Braywood and Balnaise. All have gone since Johnno pulled the pin the week before the last game in 05 and not the current church followers that is lead by Schultz & Schultz & Schultz. Maybe Maccy have done their homework by talking to Norwood & Centrals and to a lesser extent Angaston where he took the side to wooden spooners to a top 5 position with a bunch of kids in a competition that is far superior and professional than Hills Div 1 & 2, so what can he do at Maccy? one thing is for sure he will make them competitive, positive and enthusuastic whilst enjoying their footy. Good luck to Maccy for backing him in.

Agree with you Terminator Johnson seemed very good with the kids at Angaston so should help out Maccy if they have a young squad

Terminator i think your dreaming if you think that comp is far superior than hills div 1 & 2... Angaston are shite, they couldnt even beat nairne in a trial at the start if the year and Nairne isnt even a top team in Div 2???? keep dreaming champ..

Johnson would need to bring half the crows squad with him to turn things around at maccy
